Blues and Roots Radio is a multi award winning global online broadcasting network based in Port Credit, Ontario, Canada and Melbourne, Victoria, Australia with hubs in the UK, Ireland and the USA playing the best Independent artists 24 / 7 https://www.bluesandrootsradio.com/ways-to-listen

Over 50 shows are housed on our network from around the world of which a vast majority are produced exclusiv

ely for us playing Blues, Soul, R&B, Americana, Alt Country, Bluegrass, Celtic, Folk, Roots and everything in between.

“ Blues And Roots Radio plays an important part in connecting the independent musician with their audience - and I see this both as a musician and a broadcaster. The network delivers finely crafted programmes to an audience who are not casual listeners but dedicated music fans, each one of them passionate about the folk, blues or roots music that they love and look to the network to deliver. As a radio broadcaster it means a lot to me to realise that I am reaching people with the same love of the music as me, and also as an independent musician the opportunity to have my music heard and appreciated, and connect with people worldwide is invaluable. The fast-growing listenership of Blues And Roots Radio is significant and is well served by the station and its programmes - shows that you would not find on traditional commercial or network radio, and in the post-big label music industry its role will become ever more crucial to the independent musician.”
— Paul Long, Producer, Musician, Broadcaster

" Blues and Roots Radio reminds me of my youth – when the pirate stations broadcast whatever the hell they liked and challenged the status quo with non-mainstream music. Contemporary music would not be what it is today without those who look beyond the big money for their musical kick. For better or worse, I have always lived on the edges of the mainstream and I am grateful to the likes of Stevie Connor and Blues and Roots Radio for finding another way to celebrate the beautiful underdogs " - Stephen Fearing ( Canada )
Blackie & The Rodeo Kings, Singer / Songwriter / Producer

" Blues & Roots Radio's tag line is " The Voice of the Artist, " and the station is true to its promise. In a world where the medium has more often than not sought to eclipse the message, The Team make it their business to ensure that both the message of music and its messengers arrive safe and sound in homes around the world. This is a radio station run by folks with enthusiasm, generosity, determination, good humour, and - above all - integrity. In short, they're in it for the long haul, and for the right reasons " - Andrea England ( Canada ) Singer / Songwriter, Lemonade Factory Music

“Stevie Connor and his passionate team have done an outstanding job in providing a platform for both independent and signed artists to gain increased international radio exposure. Blues and Roots radio has greatly aided me with my album of the week promotion through a broadened fan base.” Ben J. Carter, Guitarist, Singer / Songwriter ( Australia )

" We could not have done without the support of Blues and Roots Radio, a phenomenally successful platform for artists to promote their music worldwide " Oka Vanga ( UK )

" I cannot thank Blues & Roots Radio enough for their sincere interest in my music. My first impression of their quality, far reaching, website was upheld by their gracious service, and rapid ex*****on of their promotional services. Independent artists now have a splendid resource to turn toward for worldwide exposure of their precious musical endeavors !

YOU NEVER KNOW WHO YOU MIGHT SEE/STORY TIME!

Erin here. This photo features (L-RStevie ConnororThe Sound Cafefe), myself, and Teddy Leonard. It’s a nice photo, and I’d like to tell everyone what happened just a moment before it was taken….

Teddy and I showed up at our appropriate stage location, and the moment our gear was placed on the stage, I took out my phone and sent a message to Stevie, letting him know I was on site, in hopes that we might have the chance to run into each other…. About 1 minute later, there he was, so the natural assumption was that he heard a notification on his phone and came over. Makes sense, given the circumstances, right? We chatted for a few minutes before I mentioned that he must have been nearby when my message came. Stevie, likely confused by what I was saying, said something that tipped me off - he had not seen my message! I whip out my phone and say “Stevie - this is unreal. Look at this!”, and showed him my message (with the time signature being only a couple of minutes old). What’s the saying? Great minds think alike. I’m pretty sure the smile on my face in this photo is the residual amazement that we were thinking the same thing at the same time with no prompt whatsoever. Love it when that stuff happens! 🙂

Not long after, Ken Wallis (President of The Escarpment Blues Society ) drops by. Ken and I have known each other for years, and worked on many projects together.

That kind of thing happened about 8-9 times the day this photo was taken - including running into a fellow musician from WAY back named Khaled, who wasn’t there as a performer but with his family to enjoy the festival. It was a trip to see Khaled in a different way - we literally only know each other via music, from a way different town, and music was everything in life the last time I saw him. It was great to see him, meet his kid, and catch up years later. 🤯 Ran into Pam Beatson (who is one of the ‘Blues Mamas’ that have been attending live Blues shows for YEARS) after about a 10 year hiatus from running into each other. She was with fellow ‘Blues Mama’ Cindy, and it kept our streak of seeing each other at Erin McCallum Music shows for 22 years (and counting!) going strong. Fans from the Erin McCallum Music page were there too - it’s always nice to be able to say hi in person…after all, the community here is so solid, it feels like some of us who haven’t met are friends just the same. 🙂 Photgrapher extraordinaire Nick Harding stopped by too - he’s another person who I’ve been seeing on the road for many years. If you like the live music photos on this page, there’s a good chance that his watermark is on them. It’s always a better show when Nick is in the house. The list goes on too….

I could mention more, but I’ll keep this post within some kind of reading limit before it turns into a novel. lol. If you were there…thank you for coming. THIS is just one of the great things about live music - it brings people together. 🙂
