Company Limited a registered company based in Juba, South Sudan. The radio was licensed in 2013 by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and allocated the 88.4
FM frequency by Ministry of Telecommunications and Postal Services in the Republic of South Sudan. City Fm is founded by young South Sudanese entrepreneurs with long serving experience in the South
Sudanese media fraternity. It is an informative, educative and entertaining media house targeting an age group of 10-80 years and
beyond with 75% Broadcasts in English and 25% in Juba (Simple) Arabic. CITY FM plays hit music in predominantly the dance formats of HOUSE, LOCAL, RUMBA,
Ragga/Reggae, Jamaican, Country, R&B and HIP-HOP, with a particular emphasis on Western
productions (50% of the play list), as a way of promoting quality music production on the local
industry. CITY FM aims to satisfy listeners' needs in order to maintain majority market share through quality
programming. As market leaders in the entertainment arena, CITY FM sets the pace and trend for the
audience of South Sudan’s radio industry. The station’s programming is predominantly personality driven, with South Sudan’s top veteran and
talented On-Air radio presenters. CITY FM boasts of a young, experienced and dynamic workforce that is small and effective. The
members of staff have developed valuable experience in radio broadcasting, production and journalism
expertise with emphasis on ethics.
88.4 City Fm is a unique initiative. A part from providing information on political, economic, social
issues and spirituality, it conducts health sensitization and literacy campaigns and provides useful
information on business and farming opportunities. The station has five main departments namely; Management and Administration, Programmes and
Production, News, Technical, Marketing and Finance. Hours Of Broadcast
CITY FM broadcasts 19 hours a day from Monday – Sunday
Weekdays
· Between 06:00 am and 1:00 am, with 2-3 hours programmes
Weekends
· Between 06:00 am and 1:00 am, with 2-3 hours programmes
We have six news bulletins a day in English and Arabic as follows; 8:00 am (English), 9:00 am
(Arabic), 1:00 pm (English), 12:00 pm (Arabic), 8:00 pm (English) and 9:00pm in Arabic. We also have packages of News Headlines, News Summaries, Press and Weekly Reviews including
Sports updates at selected time bands.
88.4 City Fm is in partnership with the world's leading broadcaster, The British Broadcasting
Corporation (BBC) for rebroadcast of News Programmes and Sports events. Audience
According to the Station’s recent research on its target audience survey the following age-group range
and their listening capacity results show:

City Fm Transmission Signals from our State of the Art Broadcasting House cover a radius of 100 km
from the capital Juba. Juba: Full coverage of Juba Main County, North: Terakeka & Mongalla
South: Duro East: Ngangala West; Ganji, Yei road & Rokon-Maridi road
All these areas are densely populated with fast growing small, medium and large scale business
undertakings in manufacturing, hotel and tourism, sugar plantations, fisheries, cement manufacturing,
agriculture, power generation, chemical and fertilizer manufacturing. The above audience is the constituency of interest to any business concern and advertiser. The World has now become “ A Global Village” and City Fm is no longer limited by geographical
