Point Pleasant, West Virginia makes the Mothman story feel alive the moment you arrive. It is part folklore stop, part riverside small town, and part unexpected gem. If you are planning a visit, here are a few things to add to your itinerary:

• Start at the to see original eyewitness reports, historic clippings, and movie props
• Snap a photo with the stainless steel Mothman statue on Main Street
• Wander through the local shops and grab a bite at one of the nearby cafés (some even have mothman inspired menu items)
• Walk along the riverfront to see the floodwall murals
• If you are here in September, check out the Mothman Festival for vendors, live music, and all things cryptid

Point Pleasant blends quirky charm and local history in a way that makes a cryptid inspired quick getaway a ton of fun!

POV: You’re standing inside the Historic Mission Control at 🚀 the very room where NASA engineers guided Apollo 11 to the Moon. Every console, every light, and every detail has been restored to look exactly as it did in 1969 when the world first heard “Houston, the Eagle has landed.”

The Mission Control Center Tour is an add-on experience and it’s truly one of the coolest things you can do at Space Center Houston. You’ll sit in the viewing gallery overlooking the original consoles, listen to real mission audio, and see the setup that made space history come alive. For space nerds like Tim and I, this was one of the things we knew we had to do during our day at SCH and it was absolutely worth it!

If you’re planning a visit, book the Mission Control Tour early because it fills up fast. It’s an unforgettable behind-the-scenes experience that makes you feel part of NASA’s most iconic moment.

November 24, 2024 - Hannibal, MO
Happened upon Mark Twains hometown. Looks like there’s a museum in town so we’re going to swing by later. I feel like we stumble onto the coolest places sometimes because we’re always down for the detour, going places without expectation, just taking it in.

“Something about an orphanage and being on a mission from God”

Sometimes we just stumble onto really cool places completely unexpectedly.

Madrid feels different this time.
Maybe because I’m not here as a tourist, but as someone returning — to a place my family once had to leave behind.
Maybe because Tim is here too, seeing it all for the first time. Watching him take it in — the narrow streets, the rhythm of the city, the way the light hits the old buildings — makes me fall in love with it all over again.

It’s strange, coming back after so many centuries of absence… a new passport that feels like both a beginning and an ending.
The process was long, tangled, and at times exhausting, but standing here now, it all feels worth it.
