Available in both paperback and e-copy. I am a Miniature Schnauzer and I was born on 28 December, 2013. I was born and raised in a sunny island called Singapore! I share this page with Hachiko, the Japanese Spitz and Bartholomew, the Maltese. Human created this page to document our daily lives and what antics we get up to! I went home with my Human, Missy Skid, on 15 June, 2014. Ever since Uncle B

boy passed on in 2005, Human have not had the courage to have another dog. The pain of separation at death was too much for her to bear. But 9 years later, she decided it was time. And when she saw me, I looked into her eyes and it worked! She could not say no to me! I have been a therapy dog since I was 2 years old. I visit schools, nursing homes and hospices to offer fur therapy to those in need. Assisi Hospice and St Luke’s Hospital are my two adopted homes. I visit the patients, volunteers and staff there. I love volunteering with Human. She always reminds me to give when we can. No matter how small a gesture, you never know what it can do. We are very happy to see the support and recognition towards therapy dogs. We are thankful and would like to share with you some of the media coverage we have been featured in so far:

Today, let’s talk hypoallergenic ☺️

When I first went home with Human, she had a pretty bad reaction to me. Rashes, itching everywhere, watery eyes, drippy nose, wheezing even. Well, the whole works. It took about 4 months for her body to climatise to me (For Hachiko, it was worse. About 6 months for Human’s body to get used to her).

How did Human make it through those months?

Antihistamine was her best friend ♥️

But hey, I’m a Schnauzer. I’m one of those hypoallergenic breeds. I’m supposed to cause no allergies, yes?

NO. A BIG NO.

Hypoallergenic means ‘less allergenic’. It does not mean ‘nonallergenic’.

With every dog comes saliva, fur and dander. Dogs that shed lesser have lower levels of the stuff humans might react to.

Maltese, poodle, bichons frises, Portuguese water dogs and Schnauzer are some of the breeds that elicit fewer allergic reactions.

If you’re one of those who had developed allergic reactions to your dogs but stuck it out until your body got used to it, we are sending you lotsa Hi-5s! It takes a lot of resilience and love! ♥️ A lot of the times allergies can be fixed but we are not downplaying all allergies. Some allergies are so severe you definitely need to seek professional advice ♥️

Happy Birthday, Hachiko ♥️

This pilgrimage trip to Hachi’s birthplace has always been on my mind. And it’s finally happened.

Close friends of mine know how much loyalty means to me. That is why I cry and overthink so much when it comes to stories like Hachiko’s and Journey to the West.

Every year I pay respects to Hachi and his owner, Professor Ueno at Aoyama Cemetery in Tokyo. The thought of Hachi not knowing why his owner disappeared all those years just tears me inside.

But all is fixed now. Hachi and Professor Ueno are forever reunited ♥️

You’re a good boy, Hachi. You’re such a good boy.

Just getting a little air before starting on our rounds around the hospice.

We sat outdoors with Aunty J for about 20 minutes before we excused ourselves. Being a dark-coated dog, I retain more heat compared to my light-coated friends. It was getting a little toasty for me. But never worry, Human’s always got my back!

I do get very relaxed at work. I enjoy the massages and the way my patients fawn over me. I lay on their beds and listen to them chatting with Human, or telling me what a good and handsome boy I am. Sometimes I watch what’s on their telly too!

If I had things my way, I would be wolfing down all the food they offer me but of course, Human has to be a pawty pooper about it 😪

Finding enjoyment in what you do can give you a greater sense of purpose. It makes you feel more fulfilled and connected to yourself!
