Having grown up primarily in the UK and US, I’d become accustomed to frequenting the cookie greats such as New York’s with its XXL masterpieces or Oxford’s oh-so-chunky

When I first set foot in the French capital, I admittedly had very low expectations when it came to the cookie scene.

I couldn’t have been more wrong.

From refined French cookies at to thick, American-style bakes at , not to mention chewy, Taiwanese-inspired sweet treasures at , Paris offers a wealth of cookie shops out there to suit all tastes.

Parisian professionals have flocked back to the capital en masse this week, and they’re hungry 🍽️

Lunch breaks (pause déjeuner) in France are sacred —there’s no wolfing down yesterday’s leftovers at the desk here, thank you very much.

And where I work 9th arrondissement of Paris, which boasts one of the highest concentrations of offices in the capital, there’s no shortage of food spots looking to cater to ravenous corporate workers.

But after a summer of culinary indulgence, many—myself included— are seeking out healthy(er) spots to try out when the clock strikes midday. We want to satisfy our taste buds but also, well, avoid a pizza-induced food hangover around 4 PM.

Luckily, I have curated a list of my top 5 healthy food spots in the 9th, taking into account price, service and, well, yummy-ness.
