A story worth sharing…
Two days ago, my boyfriend and I were pulling out of the driveway when we noticed a small body on the sidewalk. I quickly jumped out of the car, ran over, and was shocked to see a tiny hummingbird panting for breath.
My boyfriend, the big teddy bear he is, ran inside for water. In the past I think I would have started crying, but some deep understanding within me knew what was happening. The hummingbird was crossing the rainbow bridge. I gently cupped it in my sweater, watching its little feet clutch my threads. I sang softly to it, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” and somehow, I kept my voice steady. In that moment, I realized it was my job to be the last source of love, a soft landing before its soul moved on to the great resting place.
Before my boyfriend returned with water, the hummingbird’s soul released, and all suffering was gone. I took it into my backyard, buried it with a prayer, and asked the universe to welcome it home. (As seen in the last photo)
That’s when I finally cried, when I no longer had to be strong for that tiny life.
I share this story because I know if you connect with me, you’re probably an empath. You feel deeply, and in that, there’s a beautiful burden…you hold space for so much love that it can sometimes weigh heavily on your heart.
If you’re feeling called to soften, release, send love to other beings, and learn how to transform pain into compassion, I invite you to join my donation-based meditation circle tomorrow night 🦋🫂All donations will go directly to Cat Community Club, a local rescue I’ve worked with and deeply admire for their heart and soul.
You don’t need to be a professional or have any experience, just come as you are and surrender to the deep healing that occurs when guided into love and compassion.
I truly hope to see you there. 🕊️
