Todays show The Word on Ujima Radio features a superb interview with when
Ujima reporter, Andrew caught up with her just after her latest performance at last weekend. We find out about Shy One's latest gigs plus her wicked new single electronic music producer and DJ Shy One released her new single titled 'Nort Wess' this week. The track was released via the South London label Touching Bass and has been described as a "choppy mix of fizzing electro and grimey mid-range synths". It is available on platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify. 'Nort Wess' marks her signing to the Touching Bass label and is part of a process where she felt "compelled to slow down and declutter (both mentally and sonically)". Shy One also hosts the NTS Radio show Soup To Nuts NTS Radio. Huge thanks to Andrew for content!
We also hear some amazing performances from last nights NATURE VERSUS DATA charity fundraiser organised by Jimmy Galvin to raise crucial funds for the night featured an incredible array of Bristol legends including Mark Springer of Rip Rig & Panic fame, the amazing choir which featured Mark Ely who also did a solo performance. .vibes held their audience in the palm of her hand with an incredibly emotional and poignant performance of poems and violin solo's. We had films by activist, photographer & filmmaker also a powerful and empowering performance by Bristol's first Poet Laureate Mike Chambers that included a surprised due with a esteemed host for the night, the trailblazing and of course with a glorious finale with performance by himself. With all proceeds going to BDP it was a night to be remembered with the beautiful venue The Mount Without filled with an incredible spell bound audience of friends, family new and old.
