What are you going to report to God
I was having breakfast in Cape Town, a call came through and I was informed that one of our best friends just died, he had a heart attack. I called Charles Cilliers to inform him and he burst out in tears, I have never heard my friend cry like that.
I didn’t cry because I was in utter disbelief, this man was young and healthy, he left behind private jets, penthouses, massive businesses etc , he was wealthy and he was kind.
He did so much for the poor, he would take truckloads of food to peope during covid, he would pay for the studies of kids that cannot afford, he would help people with big or small things. His dress sense was nonsense and looking at him one wouldnt think he is a dollar millionaire because he mingled with everyone.
I woke up this morning and thought about him and where he is now, he surely must be in heaven, I’m thinking what a long answer he would have for God when God asked him what he has done for Gods children with all the blessings God gave him. He surely is not telling God about private jets, penthouses and how hard he partied, he is telling God about the many people he helped.
Let us live our lives in such a way that we have a good story to share with God, my friend was not perfect but he was perfectly generous, perfectly kind and a humanitarian at heart.
The cornerstone of all religions is giving to the poor, let’s us try to live a life that will make us have a good story to tell to God one day. He might just overlook our other many sins. We don’t take penthouses & cars to heaven, we don’t take titles like I was a mayor to heaven, you take what you have done for people with that title to heaven and not the title.
I know this might just change a life today hence I am sharing.
Salute
