There's an art to being able to truly see the soul of a complete stranger...to somehow soften your entire being to the human on the other side of your lens; to make them feel comfortable enough to allow themselves to let their guard down in front of you, so that as the photographer, you can hopefully capture those brief and fleeting seconds of raw beauty and emotion, and then to sit for hours meticulously turning these glimpses of their lives into art which they will carry down for generations to come...I like to believe that this is one of my gifts ❤️

For those who don't know me...Aloha! 🌺

I’m Kim Steinberg – Photographer, Daydreamer, and CEO of “Let’s Just Wing It.”
I’m a high-functioning chaos fairy with a camera. One minute I’m shooting soulful couple portraits bathed in golden light, the next I’m decorating & photographing lodges in the bush, answering 14 WhatsApps, planning wildlife photography retreats, and somehow still remembering that my Airbnb needs new towels!

Basically, I’m a one-woman creative agency powered by caffeine, big dreams, and the occasional “how did I even end up here?” moment. I thrive in beautiful places with wild hearts, have a strong dislike for boring lighting and hold a personal vendetta against fake humans. I can sniff out authenticity like a bloodhound with a vision board. I’m always chasing emotion, drama (the photogenic kind), and just the right amount of chaos—preferably while barefoot in a field or halfway up a tree trying to “get the shot.”

In my natural habitat, you’ll find me editing with snacks nearby, romanticizing my life like I’m in a music video, or subtly convincing people that emotional vulnerability looks amazing in natural light.

National Geographic doesn’t know it yet, but they need me. So do the birds and so do you!!!

Before AfrikaBurn, I decided to gift two photography sessions to kindred spirits who would be attending — open-hearted, creative souls who embody the magic of that space.

Vibeke & her hubby Ronan were one of them...From the moment we connected, I knew she was part of the reason I made that offering. Her energy is quiet but powerful, grounded yet luminous. Photographing her in the desert wasn’t just a shoot — it felt like capturing the echo of something ancient and sacred. There was no need for performance. Just presence. The wind, the dust, the light — all conspired to hold us in a moment that felt both fleeting and eternal.

Thank you for showing up so fully and allowing me to photograph you both.

Come wind, drizzle or sun, I did as many shoots as I could this December. The array of weather conditions really made for some gorgeous backdrops for all the beautiful humans I captured,,, ❤
