If anybody ever think the government is either useless, incompetent or (can’t use that word here), you haven’t dealt with Vodacom yet.

Since my first cell phone contract and number which was somewhere in the 90’s and I am still dealing with them, but it is getting worse and worse.

For the last few years I do not have a cell phone contract anymore, but only an Internet/Wifi/Data with a separate SIM. It is also a two year contract. The recent one I’ve signed on the 27th of December 2023 for two years. Except for the fact that the amount deducted from my account differs ever month – and still nobody can explain that. I have decided to pay it manually on the 27th.

I did skip once or twice and then they just cut me off from the network. After payment I must wait two days - although there is no problem cutting it off immediately. Be it as it may – now the Catch 22 – and not even the CEO’s office can explain this to me.

When I pay on the 27th – I must get my new DATA – right? No – they told me they only give data on the 30th/31st. So from 27 – till 31 somebody is sitting with my money, but I don’t get my data. If I do not pay on the 27th, because that was when I’ve signed the contract, they cut me off, because of late payment. Can somebody explain that to me?

In the meanwhile – the salary of the CEO is beyond my understanding, but let’s leave it there. I just would think that people getting paid like that, will actually give a service – even a bad one will do. I am still waiting for explanations from months ago. To start with – why must the data that I buy, expire? This is not milk getting sour or something that is going to kill somebody if I don’t use it. I am buying it – I want to use it when and how I want. Now Vodacom forces me to sit on the phone for weeks or hours – to get rid of data. What the.....?

So called Customer Services can’t answer you, CEO’s office take forever to come back and then they send emails.... Hallo – I need data to open an email. The other pathetic reason is they have tried to contact me with no success..... hello. Send me the proof

The reason I am p* off, is because EXACTLY this same incident happened two months ago. I had to buy extra airtime / data – even after I did pay my monthly account on the 27th. When I asked about it, they told me they gave me 1G for my trouble. REALLY – WOW – I am still using that by the way.........So generous of you. Today I heard that I still have 2 GB - I don't. I still have night time from 12 - 5, but that is not working during the day.

My point is and I want an answer! Why do I NOT GET MY DATA on the date of my payment?!
Who is having the money for 4 days and I do not get my part of the contract?!
I am still in this stupid ridiculous contract till end of December, but believe me – I will never never ever use Vodacom again. They will not get bankrupt because of my R236 per month, but at least my word of mouth – any possible surveys, will reflect a HUGE NO!!

I have sent numerous emails to the CEO's office, customer care and more - but month after month it is the same story and pathetic answers.
