🚨 LIFE SENTENCE HANDED DOWN IN BRUTAL FEMICIDE CASE ??


The Bloemfontein Regional Court has sentenced 43-year-old Steven Songezo Jakane to life imprisonment for the brutal murder of his then-girlfriend, Judith Moalosi (41).

Judith’s lifeless body was discovered on Monday, 17 June 2024, dumped along Dewetsdorp Road. She had sustained multiple injuries, painting a horrific picture of gender-based violence that once again shook the Free State community.

Following the discovery, the suspect was swiftly arrested. The case was taken over by Sergeant Kendrick Barnes of Sonskyn Detective Services, who led a thorough investigation. Jakane was formally charged with murder, a process that ultimately resulted in a successful prosecution.

On 17 December 2025, the court handed down a life sentence, bringing a measure of justice to Judith Moalosi’s family and loved ones, while sending a strong message that crimes of this nature will not be tolerated..
