🕊️ BRING IT INTO THE LIGHT

📖 “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
— John 8:32 NKJV

🤍

There are things we carry quietly.

Things we don’t talk about.
Things we’re ashamed of.
Things we hope nobody ever discovers.
Old wounds. Secret struggles. Hidden sin. Unforgiveness. Fear. Guilt. Pain.

We close the door, switch off the light and tell ourselves:

I’ll deal with it later.

But what we keep hidden often keeps holding us.

🌿 The enemy thrives in secrecy, but God works in truth.

He will whisper:

Don’t tell anyone.
They’ll think differently of you.
You’re supposed to have it together.
What if they knew the real you?

And slowly, secrecy becomes a prison.

But Jesus never asked you to clean up the dark places before bringing them to Him.

He simply asks you to open the door. 🗝️

📖 “But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light…”
— Ephesians 5:13 NKJV

God’s light is not there to humiliate you.

It is there to free you. 🕊️

There is a difference between condemnation and conviction.

Condemnation says:
Hide from God.

Conviction says:
Come to God.

Condemnation says:
Look what you’ve done.

Grace says:
Look what Jesus has done. ✝️

🌸 Maybe today there is something you need to stop hiding.

Maybe it’s something you did.

Maybe it’s something someone did to you.

Maybe it’s a habit you secretly cannot break.

Maybe it’s bitterness you’ve dressed up as “boundaries.”

Maybe it’s jealousy, pride, anger, addiction, disappointment or a wound you’ve carried for years.

Whatever it is…

Bring it into the light.

📖 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
— 1 John 1:9 NKJV

You don’t have to arrive before God with a polished explanation.

You can simply say:

“Lord, this is where I am.”

That is where freedom begins. 🤍

And sometimes bringing something into the light also means speaking to a trustworthy, spiritually mature person instead of carrying it alone.

📖 “Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed.”
— James 5:16 NKJV

there is no darkness in your life that frightens Jesus.

There is no secret that makes Him turn away.

There is no chain He cannot break.

But we cannot keep protecting the darkness while asking God for freedom from what lives there.

🌷 Open the door.

Let the truth in.

Let God touch the place you’ve been hiding.

Because what comes into His light no longer has to control you. 🕊️

🌸 Prayer

Father, search my heart today.

Show me anything I have hidden because of fear, shame or pride. Give me the courage to bring it honestly before You.

I don’t want to live imprisoned by secrecy.

Where there has been darkness, bring Your light.
Where there has been shame, bring Your grace.
Where there has been bo***ge, bring freedom.
Where there has been pain, bring healing.

Teach me to walk openly and honestly before You.

I choose the light.
I choose truth.
I choose freedom.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen. 🤍🕊️

🌷 what you bring into God’s light no longer has to keep you imprisoned in the dark.

👑 PRIDE — GOD RESISTS THE PROUD

📖 “God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” — James 4:6

Pride is one of those sins that is much easier to recognise in someone else than in ourselves.

It doesn’t always look like arrogance. Sometimes pride sounds like:

“I know better.”
“I don’t need anyone’s help.”
“They need to apologise first.”
“I deserve recognition.”
“Why should I be the one to change?”

And sometimes, pride even dresses itself in spiritual clothing.

We can become proud of how much we pray, how much Scripture we know, how disciplined we are, how much we serve, or how “right” we believe we are.

But Scripture gives us a sobering warning:

🔥 God resists the proud.

Not merely that God dislikes pride.

He resists it.

📖 “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.” — Proverbs 16:18

Pride says, “Look at me.”
Humility says, “Look at Him.”

Pride wants to defend itself.
Humility is willing to be corrected.

Pride wants the last word.
Humility knows when to remain silent.

Pride compares.
Humility serves.

Pride says, “I did this.”
Humility remembers, “Without God, I can do nothing.”

🌿 Humility is not thinking less of yourself. It is recognising your complete dependence on God.

Even Jesus modelled humility.

📖 “He humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” — Philippians 2:8

The King of kings washed feet.

The One who deserved every honour chose the position of a servant.

if Jesus could humble Himself, how much more should we?

Sometimes the breakthrough we are praying for doesn’t begin with God changing the people around us.

Sometimes it begins with a prayer:

“Lord, show me where pride is hiding in me.”

That prayer requires courage.

Because God may show us the apology we owe.
The correction we refused.
The offence we keep nursing.
The need to always be right.
The desire to be noticed.
The resentment when someone else is celebrated.

But look at the beautiful promise attached to the warning:

✨ He gives grace to the humble.

When we lower ourselves before God, we don’t lose.

We make room for grace.

🙏 PRAYER

Father,

Search my heart today.

Show me every place where pride has quietly taken root in me. Forgive me for the times I have wanted recognition, refused correction, defended myself unnecessarily, compared myself to others, or believed that my way was better than Yours.

Teach me the humility of Jesus.

Help me to listen before I speak, forgive without keeping score, apologise when I am wrong, serve without needing applause, and give You the glory for everything good in my life.

I don’t want to live in a place that You resist.

I want to live in the place where Your grace flows freely.

Humble my heart, Lord, and make me more like Jesus.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen. 🤍

🌷 TODAY’S HEART CHECK

Where has pride been showing up in my life — and what would humility look like there today?

💌

🌿 PSALM 81 — MAAK JOU MOND WAWYD OOP

— Psalm 81:11 (AFR53)

Psalm 81 begin met lof. 🎶
“Jubel tot eer van God…”
Daar is musiek, blydskap en aanbidding.

Maar dan verander die toon.

God begin praat.

En wat Hy sê, is eintlik hartverskeurend:

“Ag, as my volk maar na My wou luister…” 💔

Verwag van My.
Vertrou My.
Maak plek vir My.

“Here, selfs wanneer U antwoord anders is as wat ek wou hê, sal ek luister.”

Luister net.

Vertrou.

Gehoorsaam.

En maak jou mond wyd oop.

Hy weet waar die heuning versteek is. 🍯🤍

🙏 GEBED

Here,

Ek bring vandag my leë plekke na U — my onsekerheid, my bekommernisse, my behoeftes en die dinge waarvoor ek nie antwoorde het nie.

Ek maak my hande oop.
Ek maak my hart oop.
Ek maak my lewe oop.

Vul my met dit wat net U kan gee.

En wanneer ek net ’n rots voor my sien, help my om te onthou dat U selfs heuning uit die rots kan bring.

Ek vertrou U.

In Jesus se Naam,
Amen. 🤍

🌸 DAILY DEVOTIONAL | 31 AUGUST 2026 🌸

🧹✨ IS YOUR HOUSE CLEAN? ✨🧹

🌷

We spend so much time keeping our houses clean.

We sweep the floors.
We wash the dishes.
We make the beds.
We wipe down the counters.
We throw away what has become old, broken or unnecessary.

Because when dirt becomes visible, we deal with it.

But what about the house nobody else can see?

Your heart. ❤️

📖 “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” — Psalm 51:10

David understood something important: you can look perfectly put together on the outside while things are becoming cluttered on the inside.

We can clean up our behaviour without cleaning up our hearts.

We can go to church with unforgiveness still sitting in the corner.
We can worship while jealousy is gathering dust.
We can quote Scripture while pride is hiding behind the furniture.
We can serve others while resentment has been stored in a cupboard for years.

And because nobody sees it, we convince ourselves that the house is clean.

But God doesn’t only walk through the rooms we show people.

He sees every room. 🔑

📖 “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts.” — Psalm 139:23

Sometimes we ask God to bless the house when He is asking us to clean it.

Maybe there is an offence you keep replaying.

Maybe there is bitterness you have justified because somebody genuinely hurt you.

Maybe comparison has quietly moved in.

Maybe pride has taken up more space than you realised.

Maybe there are conversations, habits, relationships or thoughts that you know don’t belong there anymore.

conviction is not God standing at the door condemning you.

It is God lovingly pointing to something and saying:

“My child , this cannot stay here.” 🤍

And sometimes the hardest cleaning is not removing what is obviously sinful.

Sometimes God asks us to remove things that simply no longer belong in the person He is calling us to become.

Old mindsets.

Old wounds.

Old identities.

Old grudges.

Old versions of ourselves.

🗑️ You cannot keep asking God for something new while refusing to throw away what He has already told you is old.

📖 “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” — Proverbs 4:23

So today, don’t inspect somebody else’s house.

Don’t ask God to show you what your husband needs to change, what your friend needs to fix, or what somebody at church is doing wrong.

Hand Him the keys to yours. 🔑❤️

“Lord, walk through every room.

Open every cupboard.

Move the furniture.

Show me what I have hidden.

Show me what I have tolerated.

Show me what I have become comfortable living with.

And whatever You say must go — give me the courage to remove it.”

Because a clean heart isn’t a perfect heart.

It is a heart that keeps allowing God inside. 🕊️

🌷 TODAY’S QUESTION

If Jesus walked through every room of my heart today, is there anything I would quickly try to hide?

Don’t run from the answer.

That may be the exact room He wants to clean. 🧹✨

🙏 PRAYER

Father, search my heart today. Show me anything I have allowed to remain that does not belong there. Reveal bitterness, pride, jealousy, unforgiveness, unhealthy desires, wrong motives and old wounds I have refused to release.

I don’t want to merely look clean on the outside. I want a heart that is pure before You.

Give me the humility to recognise what needs to change and the courage to let it go.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

My heart is Your house.

Make Yourself at home. 🤍🕊️

In Jesus’ name,
Amen. 🙏

🌸 before you ask God to change what is happening around you, allow Him to clean what is happening within you. 🌸

🌸🤍 DAILY DEVOTIONAL 🤍🌸
📅 28 August 2026

🌷 WHEN THERE’S TOO MUCH ON YOUR TO-DO LIST

📖 “Be still, and know that I am God.”
— Psalm 46:10 NKJV

🌸

Some mornings you wake up and, before your feet have even touched the floor, your mind is already running.

The children need something.
There’s work to do.
Messages to answer. 📱
Appointments to remember.
A house that needs attention. 🏡
People waiting for you.
Things you didn’t finish yesterday…
and things you’re already worrying about for tomorrow.

And suddenly you feel behind before the day has even begun.

“Lord, how am I going to get through all of this?”

But Esther, perhaps God isn’t asking you to get through all of it.

Perhaps He is asking you to give all of it to Him. 🤲🏻🤍

📖 “Cast your burden on the LORD, and He shall sustain you.”
— Psalm 55:22 NKJV

There is a difference between carrying your responsibilities and carrying the weight of your responsibilities.

God has entrusted beautiful things to us — families, homes, work, ministry, friendships and responsibilities. 🌷

But somewhere along the way, we start believing:

“If I don’t keep everything together, everything is going to fall apart.”

And that is where responsibility quietly turns into anxiety.

Dear Esther, God never asked you to hold your whole world together.

That is His job. 🤍

Your hands can be busy while your heart remains surrendered.

Your calendar can be full while your spirit remains peaceful.

You can have responsibilities without allowing those responsibilities to become the ruler of your peace.

🌿 The problem begins when your list becomes louder than God.

Jesus said:

📖 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
— Matthew 6:34 NKJV

Sometimes we are exhausted because we are trying to live three days at once.

We are carrying yesterday’s unfinished business…

doing today’s responsibilities…

while worrying about tomorrow’s problems.

No wonder we are tired. 🥀

God never gave you enough grace today to live tomorrow as well.

He gave you today’s grace for today. 🌸

Tomorrow’s grace will meet you tomorrow.

So perhaps instead of praying:

“Lord, help me get everything done today.”

Pray:

✨ “Lord, show me what YOU want me to do today.”

Because not everything on your list came from God.

Not every request requires a yes.

Not every message requires an immediate response.

Not every problem is yours to solve.

Not every expectation someone places on you is an assignment from God.

And not everything needs to happen today. 🤍

🌷 Remember Martha.

She loved Jesus.

She was serving Jesus.

She was preparing things for Jesus.

And yet she became completely overwhelmed by everything that needed to be done.

Jesus looked at her and said:

📖 “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed…”
— Luke 10:41–42 NKJV

Many things.

Isn’t that so often us, Esther?

Doing.
Planning.
Organising.
Helping.
Cooking.
Driving.
Answering.
Remembering.
Fixing.
Making sure everybody else has what they need.

And somewhere in the middle of all that noise, Jesus is still saying:

🤍 “Come sit with Me.”

Not when everything is finished.

Not when everyone stops needing you.

Not when the house is quiet.

Not when the list is empty.

Now.

Because when you sit at His feet first, something happens.

Your priorities become clearer. 🌿

Some things suddenly aren’t so urgent.

Some things can wait.

Some things need a no.

Some things need to disappear from your list completely.

And some things you finally realise…

were never yours to carry in the first place. 🤲🏻

📖 “So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.”
— Luke 5:16 NKJV

Even Jesus withdrew.

There were still people waiting for Him.

Still sick people.

Still crowds.

Still needs.

Still things to be done.

But Jesus never allowed urgency to replace intimacy with the Father.

Neither should we. 🌸

Dear Esther, your worth is not measured by how much you manage to accomplish today.

You are not a better wife because the whole list is finished.

You are not a better mother because everybody else is taken care of while you are exhausted.

You are not more valuable to God because you managed to carry everything without asking for help.

You are His daughter. 🤍

And sometimes faith looks less like doing more…

and more like trusting God enough to do less.

So before you attack that list today…

☕️ Make your coffee.

📖 Open your Bible.

🤍 Sit with Him.

And ask:

“Father, what is my assignment for today?”

Then do that.

One thing at a time. 🌷
One conversation at a time.
One act of obedience at a time.
One day at a time.

You don’t have to live tomorrow today.

You don’t have to solve everything today.

And you don’t have to carry something simply because it landed on your list.

🌸 TODAY, ESTHER

Take your to-do list and place it before God.

Then ask:

🤍 What truly needs my attention today?
🌷 What can wait?
🌿 What do I need to say no to?
🤲🏻 What am I carrying that actually belongs in Your hands?

And then trust Him enough to follow His answer.

🙏🏻 PRAYER

Father,

You see everything waiting for me today.

You see my responsibilities, my family, my work, my commitments and even the things nobody knows I am carrying.

Today I surrender my list to You. 🤲🏻

Order my steps.

Order my priorities.

Show me what matters and give me peace to release what doesn’t.

When I begin rushing, quiet my spirit.

When I feel overwhelmed, draw me back into Your presence.

When I start believing everything depends on me, remind me that You are God and I am Your daughter.

Help me stop trying to carry tomorrow with today’s strength.

Today I choose:

🌸 Presence over pressure.
🤍 Peace over panic.
🌷 Obedience over accomplishment.
🤲🏻 Surrender over control.

And whatever remains unfinished tonight, give me the faith to place it back into Your hands.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen. 🤍

✨🌷 THOUGHT FOR TODAY

You don’t need enough strength to do everything on your list. You need enough faith to do what God has given you for today — and leave the rest in His hands. 🤍

Shalom

🌿 DAAGLIKSE OORDENKING

Donderdag, 27 Augustus 2026

✨ Fokus op dit wat ewigheidswaarde het

📖 Kolossense 3:2 (AFR53)

Het dit waarmee ek vandag so besig is, ewigheidswaarde?

Hoe lyk my lewe vir ander mense?

Hierdie wêreld is tydelik.

Wanneer iets vandag jou aandag, energie of vrede probeer opeis, vra:

“Gaan hierdie saak oor vyf jaar nog belangrik wees?”

En dan die belangriker vraag:

“Het dit ewigheidswaarde?”

Ons het net soveel ure.

Net soveel dae.

🙏 Gebed

Here,

Leer my om my tyd, my gawes, my woorde en my lewe te gebruik vir U Koninkryk.

Mag my lewe nie net vol wees nie, Here —

In Jesus se Naam.
Amen. 🙏🤍

🌸 Daaglikse Oordenking

26 Augustus 2026

Daar is krag in oorgee 🕊️

🌷

“Here, ek verstaan dit nie.

— Mattheus 26:39 (AFR53)

Dit is nie swakheid nie.

Dit is geloof. 🙏🏻

“Here, ek gee dit oor. U wil bo my wil. U plan bo my plan. Ek vertrou U.” 🤍

🙏🏻 Gebed:
Here, help my om vandag dit wat ek probeer beheer, volkome aan U oor te gee. Vergewe my wanneer ek terugvat wat ek reeds by U voete neergelê het. Ek kies vandag U wil bo my eie. Amen.

🌷 Onthou vandag:
Oorgee is nie waar jou krag eindig nie — dit is waar God se krag begin. 🕊️

🌿 DAAGLIKSE OORDENKING
📅 25 Augustus 2026

“Ek sal nooit Jesus wees nie, so hoekom probeer?”

Die doel is om elke dag te vra:

“Here, maak my vandag ’n bietjie meer soos Jesus.”

Volg Hom.

Kyk hoe Hy liefgehad het.
Kyk hoe Hy gepraat het.
Kyk hoe Hy vergewe het.
Kyk hoe Hy gehoorsaam was.

🙏 Gebed:
Here Jesus, ek weet ek sal U nooit in my eie krag kan naboots nie. Maar ek wil meer soos U word. Verander my hart, my woorde, my reaksies en my karakter. Heilige Gees, wys my vandag waar daar nog iets in my is wat nie soos Jesus lyk nie, en help my om dit aan U oor te gee. Amen. 🤍

✨ Onthou:

Shalom
