DID YOU KNOW THE ORIGIN OF THE NAME AFRICA AND THE MEANING 🌍 🤔 😏!!!
Africa was not literally the continent in the first place, the Romans had conquered the land of Carthage(Tunisia) and parts of Northern Algeria in punic wars around 146BCE , it became the Roman province.
The word AFRI" was a Latin term for a local people or tribe in that region likely a Berber/Amazigh group . The name derives from:
Berber word ifri, meaning "cave" referring to cave dwellers.
Through European mapping (ifriquaya) meaning dark skinned people(Arabic), was solidified during Renaissance and exploration..
In my brief opinion to the study about my beautiful continent Africa 🌍 means Dark skinned people who lived in Caves.

Oceania is a vast region made up of islands scattered across the Pacific Ocean. It includes four main subregions:
Australasia (Australia & New Zealand)
Melanesia
Micronesia
Polynesia
It was coined around 1804–1812 by Danish-French geographer Conrad Malte-Brun sometimes associated with French cartographer Adrien-Hubert Brué. The term entered wider use in the 19th century. Earlier variations like Oceanica also appeared. It replaced or supplemented older ideas like Terra Australis (Southern Land).
The first people arrived tens of thousands of years ago in Australia and New Guinea.
Later, skilled seafarers (Austronesians) explored and settled remote islands like Fiji, Samoa, and Hawaii.
Colonial powers like United Kingdom,France and Spain came in, many islands became colonies used for trade, military bases, and missionary work.
In 1900s after the WWII many colonies started gaining independence todate.
As I do this post the OCEANIA continent is consisted of 14 independent sovereign states.
