As I was reading this story a question kept looming in my mind that says "who is your Jonathan?" Who's that one person who is prepared to warn you of the looming danger, even if it means putting themselves at a disadvantage? The love with which Jonathan loved David, the Bible describes it in v17 as 'because he loved him as he loved himself'. Jesus, in Matthew 22:38-39, says loving your neighbour as you love yourself is the second greatest commandment. That statement is so packed - one day we will talk about it.

Today, I just like to ponder on this..."who is your Jonathan?" In 2020, may you find solid friendships that are genuine, destinal in nature. May the Lord bring to your life people that are willing to stand on your behalf.
