A little about me and my books:
My hubby, Antonie, and I stay at the heart of South Africa in a city named: Bloemfontein (which my mother calls: 'Die Mielielande' - meaning The Corn Fields). We have two baby tortoises - Mulberry & Gladstone who love big bites of red juicy watermelon. I love writing books that are drenched with tongue tizzlers and wublish words, I call it a 'Read-Aloud Book'. Look

out for this sticker on my next book: A Garden of My Own, available in February. Enjoy as your tongue plays hopscotch with words for all to hear. It's such a joy when a book can bring family together, lying all snug in a warm bed with mom or sitting in the shade of a tree with dad, or gramps or Aunty Marilyn - walking through each page together. This came about the 'It's Your Turn Book'. You choose which character you are at the beginning of the story and then read that character's lines...no matter what it says. I'm using the verb read loosely here, sometimes characters tend to sing, jiggle, burp or gargle. Time to have a laughter of fun with your little ones. My books are proudly South African. Readers are leaders...sounds cheesy, but education is power and reading helps us unlock this power to wield it against many social injustices. May books keep us growing, laughing, and loving.
