Witness K testified about a scheme involving Julius Mkhwanazi (EMPD) and an individual named Jemon Semon to steal precious stones from a flat in Kilarney. She first received information about the stones six months earlier (while still in operations) but did not act on it. When Mkhwanazi asked her to "keep her ear to the ground" for information involving money, she relayed Semon's request—understanding that Semon "wanted someone to steal those stones for him." Semon had previously driven her to the block of flats and shown her the unit number where the stones were kept. She confirmed that Semon was not an informant in this instance; he was someone who wanted assistance in obtaining the stones.
