Notice is hereby given of a Public Participation Process to obtain a Closure Certificate in terms of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development (Act 28 of 2002 (MPRDA), as amended APPLICANT AND BACKGROUND: Totapix Proprietary Limited (herein referred to as Totapix) holds a prospecting right for the prospecting of coal under reference number GP 30/5/1/1/2/10124 PR, for the Welgedacht A prospecting project. The current prospecting area is 2572,2115 hectares.

Totapix initially intended to drill 39 prospecting boreholes but lodged application for an Environmental authorization in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (Act 108 of 1998), as amended (NEMA) and an Amendment in terms Section 102 of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act (Act 28 of 2002), as amended (MPRDA) to decrease the current approved prospecting area at Welgedacht A from 2572,2115 hectares to 112.7897 hectares by excluding certain farm portions. The prospecting boreholes were intended to be reduced from 39 boreholes to 7 boreholes. Below is a list of farm portions under the current approved prospecting right.
