THREE LOST THEIR LIVES AT AN ACCIDENT ON THE N1 NEAR KOPPIES

KOPPIES: 24 July 2024:-* Accident between a truck and a light motor vehicle claims the lives of 3 males and two others survive near Koppies.

On Wednesday 24 July 2024 at about 13:45, Koppies police station received a distress call about an accident that happened on the N1.

Members rushed to the scene and discovered that the accident involved a truck and a sky blue Datsun iGo light motor vehicle. It is alleged that both vehicles were traveling north when the accident happened and the Datsun iGo ended under the trailer of the truck, killing three males. Two others, a male and a female, were rushed to the hospital in a critical condition.

The light motor vehicle had five occupants in it—four males and one female. Only two males and a female's identities were found at the scene. The other two are unknown at this stage.

A case of culpable homicide was opened and is under investigation.
