Happy International Nelson Mandela Day!

Fun fact: Madiba was ACT’s first Chief Patron, between 1994 and 1999 and ACT was known as the Arts & Culture Trust of the president when it first opened its doors.

On this day we honor the first ever former-president of the Republic of South Africa and celebrate the long lasting legacy of Tata Rolihlahla Nelson Mandela. We thank you for being a symbol of hope, freedom and unity. 🇿🇦

Sibikwa Arts Centre, with support from the National Lotteries Commission, proudly presents Impande Zobuntu: Stories Without Borders National Online High School Short Stories Competition, an exciting platform for young voices to shine!

What We’re Looking For:
✔️ Original and unpublished stories
✔️ Written in any indigenous South African language
✔️ Between 800–1,500 words
✔️ Written by learners in Grade 8–12
✔️ Focused on the environment, land, sustainability, and traditional ecological practices
