South Africa’s Leading U20 Women’s 1500m Times of 2026

South Africa’s U20 women’s 1500m has produced an exciting group of young middle-distance athletes in 2026, led by 16-year-old Lara Stander, who tops the list with 4:14.99.

Stander is also the South African U18 champion, while her twin sister Anke Stander, also just 16, features inside the top five with 4:25.99, having claimed U18 bronze.

Andrea Steynberg sits second with 4:17.46 and is the South African U20 champion. Leandri Pretorius ranks third with 4:21.77, earning U18 silver.

Chelsea van Dyk is fourth with 4:23.52, while Anke Stander completes the top five.
