SU***DE PREVENTION DOESN’T END WITH SEPTEMBER.

As Su***de Prevention Month draws to a close, we want to leave you with something more important than another statistic:

You matter.

To the person who got out of bed when they didn’t want to.
To the teenager who feels like nobody understands.
To the man who thinks he has to carry everything alone.
To the parent who keeps showing up for everyone else.
To the first responder who has seen one difficult scene too many.
To the person smiling in public while quietly falling apart.

Please stay. Please talk. Please reach out.

And for the rest of us — keep checking in.

Send the message.
Make the call.
Have the coffee.
Ask twice when someone says, “I’m fine.”
Listen without judgement.

You don’t need to be a counsellor to care about someone. Sometimes the most important thing you can say is:

“I’m here. Talk to me.”

September may be coming to an end, but the need to look after one another doesn’t.

CERT-SA’s Trauma Support Team remains available to our community, free of charge.

Need someone to talk to? Reach out.

If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, please contact emergency services or a su***de crisis service immediately.

Keep checking in. Keep talking. Keep choosing kindness.
