LADIES PROVINCIAL FOOTBALL IN SHAMBLES
Following the strings of virtual meetings between SAFA provincial and the provincial league participants (Sasol league teams), last week the association reached a shocking decision.
Out of 18 teams from 2 streams which were playing under the Sasol league, this season (which is also late) will have only seven(7) teams in the province, which will be just one stream that will cover the whole province.
Teams are being owed their traveling fee which were not fully paid by SAFA this past season, each team were paid R8000 instead of the whole balance which is around R35k. Teams have voiced out their frustrations and told the association that they won't be able to take part in this season's campaign due to difficulties of transport, which SAFA agreed on, and decided to take only seven teams that have agreed to play even though they are still owed their monies.
Kick off date has been set and the league will kickoff as planned, the participant in this season are
League champions Super Strikers FC , Easthigh Academy, Rockets, Phefeni ladies, Skimming United ladies FC, Botleng United ladies and Peace Hunters ladies FC
First games will be on the weekend of 17 August 2025, Mpumalanga is the only province that is yet to start their 2025 season.
