Theewaterskloof Municipalityโs Disaster Management, operational and emergency teams continue with response and mopping-up operations across all towns following the severe weather conditions experienced across the municipal area.
๐๐น๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ถ๐๐:
* Power outages are still affecting Grabouw, Riviersonderend as well as parts of Greyton, Genadendal and Botrivier.
* The municipal technical services and Eskom teams are attending to outages and damage, but there is currently no estimated time for restoration. As soon as updates become available we will share it.
๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ณ๐๐๐ฒ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐บ๐ผ๐๐ฎ๐น:
* Refuse removal services in Genadendal
and Greyton as well as Caledon and Riviersonderend will commence today. We will keep residents informed regarding the other Towns.
๐ช๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐:
* Due to widespread power outages still affecting some towns, especially Grabouw and Riviersonderend, residents across the affected towns are requested to use water sparingly, where possible, to avoid water shortages as power outages may affect our plant's operations.
* The pipeline that was fixed Saturday that feeds residents of Von Solomon Street washed away last night, there is no estimated time for repairs at this stage but an update will follow as information becomes available.

* Due to power outages and severe weather conditions, many municipal offices and facilities are currently offline. Residents are encouraged to make use of the Municipalityโs 24/7 toll-free emergency number for assistance or to report incidents.

All major routes in and around the Theewaterskloof are including the N2 is open.
* The R43 Villiersdorp road is closed to the Worcester side.
* Some roads within Towns may still be flooded or obstructed by fallen trees due to weather overnight, so please proceed with extreme caution and avoid driving through flowing water.
Motorists are urged to obey all traffic instructions and remain cautious on the roads.

* The Municipality has availed municipal facilities and emergency shelter in Bereaville, CaledonGreyton and Villiersdorp for households that have been affected by the storm.
Residents are urged to avoid unnecessary travel where possible and remain vigilant as strong winds and rain continue across the municipal area.
