Our Story
Beat Bangaz DJ Academy formerly known as The Scratch Lab DJ Training Facility is the brainchild of Africa’s pioneering DJ collective, The Beat Bangaz (Ready D, E-20 & DJ Azuhl), who with a collective experience that spans more than 30 years now runs this unique DJ school. With a track record consolidated in international tours, SA and African Tours, Radio, Television, Clubs, Music production, Mixtapes, Live Bands, Seminars, Expo’s and workshops – the students will benefit from this collective’s insight and experience. With it’s mission to provide education and accessibility in the art of the DJ and producer whilst maintaining a high standard of service, Beat Bangaz DJ Academy offers an insightfull, inspirational and informed experience. Combining traditional DJ methods and tools with the latest cut throat technology, the training received sets Beat Bangaz DJ Academy apart from other DJ schools. From novice, bedroom DJ or the seasoned performer, Beat Bangaz DJ Academy offers a range of courses and workshops to accommodate any skill level. It’s cost effective DJ and music production courses that’s conducted by accredited, professional and experienced trainers keeps students on par with the latest technology, developments and techniques. From it’s beginner courses to it’s advanced, the emphasis for Beat Bangaz DJ Academy is also importantly on building personal relationships and a holistic approach to training.
Beat Bangaz DJ Academy also boasts with it’s free workshop series, Lab Sessions, held on a monthly basis that introduces interested parties to new software, technology, guest DJ’s and producers and tools to promote self expression through music. Not limiting itself, Beat Bangaz DJ Academy caters for all music forms ranging from hip hop, electronica, house, experimental and more. Students can also enroll into our Lab Practise sessions to hone and expand on their current skill level.
Students recieve manuals, supporting audio and video material and practical field work inclusive in all courses. With it’s mentorship approach combined with all supporting materials, Beat Bangaz DJ Academy ensures it’s students claim their stake in the art. Partnerships with leading brands also ensure students receive discounted rates for selected DJ equiptment and software.
Beat Bangaz DJ Academy also provide private tuition upon request as well supervised practice sessions.
