The most common contributors to this low figure are the cost of connectivity and the devices that offer access to social media platforms. Social media usage is largely restricted to essential communication for most of those with access to it.

South Africa's Intra-Africa exports amounted to US$30 Billion (R572 Billion) in 2022. Mozambique was the top export destination with Botswana coming in second. What is interesting is that almost all of South Africa's Intra-Africa trade is limited to 8 Southern African countries
