Kere Nyawo as Popayi and Thulani Didi as Spinach gave viewers a partnership full of humour, chemistry and the kind of back-and-forth that made them so entertaining to watch.

Some TV pairings simply stick with you, and these two are definitely one of them. ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆโค๏ธ

Notizi played by Neziswa Kanju helped create the space for Bhuqa (played by Willie Thambo) and Zuziwe played by (Amanda Quwe) to spend time together. Zuziweโ€™s uncle thought Notizi was simply keeping her company, without realising those visits were helping a forbidden romance grow. ๐Ÿ˜‚โค๏ธ

And we know where that love story went. Bhuqa, a Thembu, and Zuziwe, a Hlubi, continued seeing each other despite everything standing between them.

We have to give Notizi her flowers. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Was she the ultimate wingwoman for Bhuqa and Zuziwe? ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿพ

SHE WAS PROMISED TO NTABENI, BUT HER HEART WAS ELSEWHERE ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆโค๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Poor Ntabeni really never stood a chance. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Played by Lita Makasi, Ntabeni was the man Zuziwe had been promised to. But Zuziwe, played by Amanda Quwe, had fallen in love with Bhuqa, and that forbidden relationship became the heart of the conflict in Aba Kwazidenge.

For Ntabeni, what was supposed to be his future marriage became part of a much bigger battle involving love, family expectations and the tension between the amaHlubi and abaThembu.

Be honest, were you Team Ntabeni or Team Bhuqa for Zuziwe? ๐Ÿ˜‚โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿพ

THE LAUGH, THE TIMING, THE PRESENCE... PURE JERRY PHELE ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‘‘

Jerry Phele is one of those performers whose face instantly takes you back to an era of South African television filled with unforgettable characters and unmistakable personalities.

From Thabang Mofokeng in Emzini Wezinsizwa to Tsepo in Stokvel and Morena in Skwizas, Phele built a career around warmth, humour and the kind of comic timing that made even the smallest moment memorable.

He never needed to force the joke. Sometimes the expression alone was enough. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

MAZWI HAD AN ANSWER FOR EVERYTHING ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

If you remember Mazwi from Ubambo Lwami, you already know the attitude that came with a line like this. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Played by the late Menzi Ngubane, Mazwi became one of the characters that introduced South African audiences to the presence and personality Ngubane would later become famous for. Sometimes it was the dialogue, sometimes it was the facial expression, and sometimes Mazwi simply had to look at somebody for you to know trouble was coming. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ”ฅ

FIVE CHARACTERS WHO MADE TSHISA BURN ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

Tshisa arrived on SABC1 in 2006 and threw viewers straight into the world of youth culture, television, music, fame, relationships and the consequences of chasing the fast life.

Baksteen (Innocent Masuku), Bafana (Bongani Masondo), Vinolia (Manaka Ranaka), Precious (Enhle Mbali) and Speedy (Given Stuurman) were all part of that memorable world. Speedy was Ayanda's younger brother.

This was the kind of drama where fame, drugs, family and relationships could change everything from one episode to the next. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ“บ

Tshisa fans, who was YOUR favourite out of these five: Baksteen, Bafana, Vinolia, Precious or Speedy? ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿพ

THE FACE BEHIND AN UNFORGETTABLE LOVE STORY ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆโค๏ธ

Before the years passed, Amanda Quwe was Zuziwe Langa, the young woman at the centre of one of Aba Kwazidengeโ€™s defining stories.

Zuzยญiwe was promised to Ntabeni, but her heart belonged to Bhuqa, a Thembu man. Their forbidden relationship crossed the divide between the amaHlubi and abaThembu and helped drive the conflict at the heart of the classic Xhosa drama.

Decades later, seeing Amanda Quwe beside the character so many viewers remember is pure nostalgia. ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‘‘

When you look at Amanda Quwe today, do you still immediately see Zuziwe? โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿพ
