Layering lab, episode: *the one that got away* šŸ“ø

Next up: T-shirt mini dress layered over wide-leg trousers with just a little peak of lace at the hem.

In the mirror? 10/10 confidence.
On camera? Served.
At the family braai when my someone took a pic? Immediate *ā€œnope, thatā€™s a failā€* moment šŸ˜‚

I also accidentally deleted the last part of this video while filming.

And you know what? Weā€™re posting anyway.

Because content creation isnā€™t about perfection. Itā€™s about showing up, experimenting, and reminding ourselves that real life isnā€™t curated angles 24/7.

Some looks hit, some miss in photos, but if *you* felt good in it ā€” thatā€™s the win. No oneā€™s perfect and this is life. We wear the outfit anyway šŸ«¶

ā€œLayering makes you look biggerā€

Myth: āŒ

Me in 4 layers looking like a snack: āœ…

Welcome to my Layering Lab Series, where we prove your plus/mid body can handle all the fabric if you know the science šŸ‘©šŸ½ā€šŸ”¬

Todayā€™s experiment:

Step 1: Took a mini T-shirt dress. Cute, but my thighs said ā€œabsolutely notā€ to it solo.

Step 2: Threw a lace tiered skirt under it. Now itā€™s a top. Math.

Step 3: Realized the lace was giving ā€˜peek-a-boo with my knickersā€™ energy.
Fixed it with a polka dot nighty (old ) underneath. Yes, a nighty. Weā€™re resourceful here.

Step 4: Looked up and saw Iā€™d accidentally built a fabric tower on my torso.
Added a scarf to cut it in half. Call it fashion.

Step 5: Used the Rule of Thirds ā€“ 2/3 chaos up top, 1/3 floaty skirt at the bottom.

Proportions: balanced.

Step 6: Hair UP with a scrunchie .
Because when the outfit is serving volume, my neck needs to make an appearance or Iā€™ll look like a stylish marshmallow.

Step 7: Sandals
Because even mad scientists need to walk.

Result: Comfy, covered, still got my shape, and I re-wore 3 pieces that usually rot in my closet.

Effortless chic in an easybreezy way ā€” and I mean that literally āœØ

I know what youā€™re thinking: ā€œOne size fits most? Iā€™m a size 18, nothing ever fits me.ā€

Iā€™ve been there. But proved me wrong about 2 years ago.

These oversized fits actually fit. This dress is proof. Size 18, and I feel amazing in it.

Wearing something vs. styling it with intention are two different things.

Iā€™ve styled this piece so you can see it work through every season ā€” because confidence isnā€™t about the size on the tag. Itā€™s about how you choose to show up.

This is what gives me the confidence to walk out the door and take on the world.
