YOU ARE NOT JUST A PERFUME TO ME

You are not just a perfume to me
You are not just a distinctive floral and herbal scent that soothes and relaxes my mind
You are not just scent that lingers on my skin
With every sniff i am transported to moments of relaxation of knots and kinks
Moments so comforting
As though a bird sensually whispering love that never ends

You are not just a sophisticated blend of tuberose and vanilla
Rather you evoke noticable emotions
As I wear your scent I find solace and peace
I walk in confidence with a genuine yet infectious radiant smile

Knowing that
You were chosen by Him who captured my heart

BOOK REVIEW OF IT BEGINS WITH YOU BY CHIMNESE DAVIDS

In this wonderful book Chim explores how change starts from deep within oneself while she draws inspiration from her own experience.

She stresses that the pivotal choice to stand, to rise above every circumstance, to take command begins with no one else but you. Miss Davids continues further to inform the reader that all the resources that one needs to shape and make whole his/her life are already made available. As an individual, you just need to take a step and make that bold decision. Yes the journey is long, the road is unsure and the are no guarantees. However, with that one step you are willing to take you will find your cure.

What stood up the most to me while getting lost in "It Begins With You" was how Chim made me feel like I am not alone when I encounter some of the challenges that she explored. Although I'm way younger than the author, I can relate to alot that she details in this book.

In conclusion, as much as it is a captivating book, it is not perfect. I found some grammatical errors. If you're more inclined to British English and Merriam Webster style of writing, it is without a doubt that you'll notice the errors. However, if born and raised in Cape Town the errors wouldn't be a problem for you. The good thing Is that those minor grammatical errors, did not detract from my overall reading experience. I highly recommend "It Begins with You" to anyone seeking a thought-provoking and motivating read.

An Elegant Vision

With poise and grace, she glides across,
A vision of refinement, in every loss.
Her steps, a gentle dance, so light and free,
Commanding attention, with elegance.

Her eyes, bright stars, shining bright and wide,
Reflecting wisdom, and a gentle pride.
Her smile, a work of art, so subtle and sweet,
Illuminating all, her presence does meet.

Her hair, a rich cascade, of silk and night,
Framing her face, with a soft, ethereal light.
Her skin, like porcelain, smooth and fair,
Radiating warmth, beyond compare.

With every move, she weaves a spell,
Of sophistication, and a story to tell.
Her elegance, a gift, so rare and true,
A treasure to behold, for me and you.

Her heart, a sanctuary, of kindness and love,
A refuge from life's turmoil, sent from above.
Her spirit, a flame, that burns so bright,
Guiding us forward, through life's plight.

This elegant woman, a masterpiece so fine,
A creation of beauty, forever divine.

An act of kindness even the smallest of its kind can change someone's entire day. Imagine someone who's facing rejection and hardships at home and in their neighborhood. Then, there comes a bubbly cheerful colleague, you greets them with a huge genuine smile and wishes them to enjoy their day. It doesn't seem like much. However, for someone who is at a breaking point, that is big. That's why they'd encourage themself and strive to enjoy their day come what may. Most people are working in toxic work environments but if there can be that percuilar kind person, someone's day can be altered.

Be kind

Are you going through a hard time? Do you need a book that can make you laugh, roll on the floor until your ribs hurt? Man Mission: four men, fifteen years, one epic journey by Eytan Uliel is a tale that gives us life from men's perspective. It explains men's feelings and behaviour during college, during marriage and after divorce. Every year, four friends go on a wild trip kayaking, hiking, cycling and anything manly that they will decide to do. In these trips, they swore to do anything that enhances and makes them feel like the men that they are. However, if any one of them behaves otherwise, he is given a pink bracelet to indicate that he is failing as a man. I learnt a lot of things truly.

There is a map, beautifully drawn map to highlight the character's destination and whereabouts. The language is very descriptive and provoking imagery. And, on a negative note for readers who prefer a clean language, there is tons of profanity here. At the beginning of a chapter, the author quotes a popular quote as well as a biblical scripture that almost go hand in hand. Considering the use of profanity, the biblical verse quoted as the chapter starts are likened to petrol and oil.

I related with a lot characters. The likes of Sam. He is funny, out going, forward and strives to be happy always. The likes of Daniel. He is well organised, a great planner and probably a perfectionist. Most of us, look at Daniel in a different perspective from other men. We think Daniel doesn't face similar challenges like typical men. We think Daniel behaves differently when faced with challenges like typical men. But, Daniel is just a man. He does what other men do. He thinks as they think. He feels what they feel.

I reccoment this book, Man Mission to audiences who like adventure, learning new things and is eager to understand men better. I happily rate it 5 out of 5 stars.

BOOK REVIEW:
KINGDOM PRINCIPLES: PREPARING FOR KINGDOM EXPERIENCE AND EXPANSION BY MYLES MUNROE.

Firstly, what is religion? Religion is defined as the adherence to a set of beliefs that regulate the moral, social and ritualistic behaviour of an individual. It is the most powerful force on Earth.

Kingdom Principles: Preparing For Kingdom Experience and Expansion by Dr Myles Munroe is not a religious book but it is about concepts that were introduced at the beginning of the creation of man. This 215 paged non-fiction is fast-paced, informative and educational. Have you asked yourself the following questions; Do I understand the true meaning of Christianity? Do I understand or misunderstand Christ? Do I represent or misrepresent Christ? When I call myself a Christ embassador, do I represent the kingdom of God on earth or do I represent Christianity as a religion? This book answers the above questions and many more.

Dr Myles Munroe outdid himself in describing the kingdom of God in explicit detail. He lays out the concepts and principles that must be understood first when dealing with the kingdom of God. Trust me, according to this book, the kingdom of God is misrepresented and misunderstood. On page 16 Dr Myles Munroe states,

"Misunderstanding Jesus has caused Muslims to reject Him, atheists to hate Him, and agnostics to deny Him. But it just may be those who claim to represent Him the most - Christians - who have in fact misunderstood and, therefore, misrepresented Him the most".

There is a lot that still needs to be learnt before one can say they completely understand matters of the Kingdom of God. Dr Munroe quotes several Biblical scriptures as reference to his claims and truths regarding the Kingdom of God. Surely, by now, you understand why this book has nothing to do with religion although it is written by a gospel Minister.

There was nothing I disliked about reading this book. The language utilised is simple and easy to comprehend. There were just a few terminologies which made me consult the dictionary because of my eagerness to learn. However, that did not distract or slow me down in my reading. There is no use of profanity or any sexually explicit content.

The book seemed to have been professionally edited as I encountered a handful of errors. I recommend it to audiences who are zealious about the kingdom of God. Readers who want to understand why they were created and what is expected of them. I whole heartily rate Kingdom Principles 5 out of 5 stars.
