Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes... our new LOOKBOOK Journal has officially landed, and it’s all about, you guessed it, MAPS! 🗺️

This edition has been created to accompany the current edition of House and Leisure, Volume 21 (Roam). 🛻 If ‘Roam’ is about the joy of wandering, then ‘the Map’ is about the many ways we navigate and understand this world: through land, storytelling, childhood, curiosity, exploration, play, and all the unexpected paths in between. Roam... maps... you get the idea. 😜

This season, we’re going places – far, wide, beyond, into the past, to the Karoo, to Inida, and even on a donkey. 🫏

Talkin’ ‘bout a re’wool’ution... 🐑

For those who have never been, let this be the gentle shove you needed towards the Karoo Winter Wool Festival. 🚜

From the moment you embark on your road trip (because trust us, it will be...), the experience begins. 🪡 As you inch closer and closer to the Karoo, the landscapes change and yes, the temperature drops (drastically), but with each passing town, your heart warms a little more – thanks to the abundance of smiles, pancakes, and roosterkoek that fill the belly and soul. 💛

As for the festival – it’s insightful, emotional, honest, immersive, raw, and a beautiful reminder of the remarkable natural fibres woven into this country. 🧶 There’s a reason we’ve featured this incredible wool gathering in print (aka House and Leisure), twice... 📔

A special congratulations to the VIVIERS STUDIO and Hoven team for putting together an incredible showcase this year, yet again. ⭐️ You blew our woolly socks off! 🧦

It’s official kids, the applications for Design Week South Africa 2026 are finally OPEN! To all our friends – those who would call themselves designers, studios, collectives, architecture and interior practices, creative agencies, retailers, galleries, and brands connected to design and creative culture – THIS. IS. YOUR. CALL. 📢

We’ve already blocked out our October diaries... and we think you should do the same... 👉 Make sure you apply for Johannesburg (8–11 October), Cape Town (22–25 October), or both cities, and submit your activation idea inspired by this year’s theme – ‘The Shape of Us’.

Applications close on 2 August 2026. 📬

No, we’re not done with Decorex yet. 😉 After scrolling through the ‘spotted’ archives of this year’s Decorex Africa CPT finds, we couldn’t not feature one of our absolute favourites – also crowned Designer of the Year… 👉 LRNCE, you blew our socks off. 🌟 Jaws dropped, gasps quickly followed, and iPhones were whipped out of pockets to capture your incredible booth, products, and overall creative ex*****on. 👏👏👏

Well done, friends. We’re so happy you gifted us a lil’ Marrakech! 💛
