One Dead, Six Injured in Lusaka Road Accident!

A tragic road traffic accident in Lusaka West has left one person dead and six others seriously injured, according to the Zambia Police Service.

The accident occurred on December 27, around 17:00 hours, along 55 Road in Garden House residential area. It involved a Toyota Hino Ranger Light Truck, driven by 27-year-old Dalitso Zulu of Garden House, and a Toyota Funcargo, driven by 30-year-old Deluxe Kapelabulungu of Kanyama West.

Both drivers sustained serious injuries and are currently admitted to Kanyama Level One Hospital.

An unidentified female adult, who suffered multiple injuries, was pronounced dead upon arrival at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH). Her body has been placed in the UTH Mortuary, awaiting identification and postmortem examination.

Four unidentified pedestrians also sustained serious injuries and are receiving treatment at Kanyama Level One Hospital.

Police say both vehicles were extensively damaged. Preliminary investigations suggest the accident was caused by excessive speed. The Toyota Hino Ranger reportedly hit a speed hump, lost control, swerved into the opposite lane, collided with the Toyota Funcargo, and struck the pedestrians.

Authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution, obey speed limits, and prioritize the safety of pedestrians and other road users. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.

Tiana is just a young lady living her life, growing and still knowing life.

I think it's very important to respect people who we know nothing about except what they decide to show us and sometimes we must always consider someone's mental health first before we start using our platforms to mock them.

I believe this young lady here has done nothing wrong to most Zambians throwing shades on her today. Relationships starts and Relationships end and its not a guarantee that it will end in marriage regardless of the level at which it was. Her previous partner marrying someone else doesn't make her a bad woman or less of a woman and we all dont know what went wrong in their relationship so its important we respect that and stop dragging this young lady.

Dear women, its also disappointing to see that majority of the people making fun of her are the fellow women. You guys are supposed to fill her comment section with words of encouragement in the moment where shes carrying a heavy burden of social media trash 🗑.

Its important to respect people's privacy and respect them especially if you know nothing about them.

This girl has done nothing
She hasn't stolen anything
She hasn't snatched someone's husband
She's simply a lady like anyone else with failed relationship which should not cost her peace and do her work on social media.

We must use social media for positive things. We must use our platforms to encourage people, motivate them and give them hope especially that this is a female being dragged and talked about in a negative way.

Lets encourage one another
Lets love one another
When one fall dont laugh but be one to lend a hand
Lets lift each other up

This is not a time to make fun of anyone's situation or failure, everyone is battling depression and some issues we might not know of and we must be kind and spread love regardless of the situation one might be going through.

Lets embrace Ubuntu

We have one Zambia
One love
Let a fellow Zambian not feel bad for being a Zambian, it must be a family.

Namwala nurse takes own life month after birthday

A 27-year-old male nurse volunteering at Namwala District Hospital has died after taking his own life, a month after his birthday in November.

Southern Province police commissioner Moono Namalongo said the incident occurred yesterday between 10:00 and 18:00 hours in Mayonda Village, Namwala District.

The deceased, Charles Bwato, was found hanging inside his residence.

According to Police, no foul play is suspected.

Namalongo said Bwato last reported for work last Saturday, at 07:00 hours and knocked off around 13:00 hours before returning home.

Concern arose yesterday after several people noticed a troubling message he had posted on Facebook, suggesting that he might harm himself.

Bwato wrote: "If you don't see me next year just know that I loved you"

Family members later confirmed that he was last seen at his home around 10:00 hours, where he appeared distressed and became aggressive when questioned about the post.

“Later that evening, relatives were informed that he had taken his own life. They rushed to his residence, confirmed the incident, and reported the matter to Namwala Police Station,” Namalongo said.

Police officers who visited the scene found Bwato’s body hanging from a roof pole using a blue nylon curtain.

“The body was inspected and no visible injuries were observed. No foul play is suspected at this stage,” Namalongo said.

The body has since been deposited at Namwala District Hospital mortuary, where it is awaiting postmortem examination and burial.
