"Today the boys fought like I’ve never seen before. Just a few minutes’ lapse in concentration, and we conceded that equaliser, but I thought we could have done better.”

Man falls into pit latrine, dies!

A MAN of John Laing Township in Lusaka has died in a tragic accident after falling into a pit-latrine while bathing.

The deceased has been identified as Casius Muma, aged 48.

Zambia Police Service spokesperson Rae Hamoonga confirmed the incident, saying officers at Kanyama Police Station received a report of sudden and unnatural death on November 6.

The report was made by the victim’s sister, Loveness Mulenga, aged 43, who explained that her brother drowned after the latrine collapsed while he was inside.

According to police, the accident occurred around 19:00 hours on November 5 when Muma went to bath in a pit-latrine that also served as a bathroom.

“Unfortunately, the structure collapsed while he was inside, causing him to fall into the pit and drown,” Mr Hamoonga said.

If the Commander-in-Chief said ‘sort them out,’ it wouldn’t have been well - Frank Tayali

TRANSPORT and Logistics Minister Frank Tayali says President Hakainde Hichilema's decision to walk away from the violent incident in Chingola instead of ordering retaliation showed true leadership.

Speaking to UPND members in Kitwe yesterday, Tayali said the President could have easily used his power as Commander-in-Chief to respond with force when his motorcade was stoned by unruly youths at Chiwempala Market, but he chose peace instead.

The Ndola central lawmaker stated that the President’s calmness prevented bloodshed and showed that he is a God-fearing leader who values peace.

"This is a Commander in chief, if he said sort them out, it wouldn't have been well. But Mr President you decided to simply walk away," Tayali said.

Tayali expressed disappointment with what happened in Chingola and warned the group of Jerabos suspected to be behind the attack to stop their violent behaviour before the law catch up with them.

"You Jerabos who did that in Chingola better stop, we will sort you out," he warned.

“Presidential Hichilema has brought peace and no one will take this country back to violence."
