Nigerian artists earned $37.8 million from Spotify alone in 2024, a record, and more than double the year before. That is real progress.

But Afrobeats generated over $100 million globally in 2023. And the projections for Africa's creative economy reach $200 billion by 2030.

The gap between what Nigeria creates and what Nigeria captures is not inevitable. It is a structural problem and structural problems have structural solutions.
