Thank you The Witty Wine Woman for your review of Flagstone Wines after a visit to Flagstone Winery in Somerset West!

Another thing I learned at Flagstone Wines was that each bottle 🍾 gets it's own story... Which reflects the brand's philosophy that wine can change the world albeit not perhaps in a big way but they believe if the wine is crafted with care, dedication and love that it will bring a little joy into the world.

You'll notice on the bottle the little birds sitting on the telephone line which leads to the story behind the Viognier 2016.

As everyone knows, word of mouth is one the most effective ways to spread news and share a discovery which is how they would like the Flagstone Viognier to become more widely known. The 'problem' lies with this particular grape variety in that people often struggle to pronounce it, so by naming their Viognier, 'Word of Mouth' they make it that much easier to order off the menu.

TASTING NOTES:

BOUQUET - Aromas of watermelon 🍉, peaches 🍑 and a floral hint.

PALATE - Summer fruits follow through on the palate with a hint of spiciness. It's a medium bodied wine with a fresh acidity and lingering aftertaste.

The bottle retails for R88 at the cellar door.
