Place of Thorns, the story of Puerto Escondido, is now live online.

The film tells the story of one of the world’s most incredible waves, Puerto Escondido, from its discovery by early surfers when it was just a small coffee port in Mexico, to the bustling tourist Mecca it has become today. After five decades, Puerto continues to draw surfers from across the globe to the town’s main beach, Playa Zicatela, to pit themselves against some of the biggest, most deadly beach break waves on the planet.

But it’s not only the town that has changed. The iconic wave is under dire threat, galvanizing the local community as they take a united stand to save the wave and their home.

Featuring: Coco Nogales, Shane Dorian, Bianca Valenti, Greg Long, Matt Bromley, Nathan Florence, Quetzal Estrada, Jeff Divine, Craig Peterson and others.

---
Cutting the Line follows husband and wife team, Naude and Katja Dreyer, and their three children as they embark on a mission to rescue seals entangled in deadly plastic pollution along the Namibian coastline. What begins as a few spur-of-the-moment rescues quickly evolves into a unique environmental organization that finds itself pitted against a mounting global crisis.

Cutting the Line premieres online on June 8 2023, World Oceans Day, and will be available to watch through Vimeo On Demand for a limited three day period, after which it will start showing on the international film festival circuit.

Tickets are $4.99, with all proceeds going to Ocean Conservation Namibia and our incredible production partner, Plastic Oceans International, to continue the fight for a plastic-free ocean.
