Story line
Once upon a time, in a small village surrounded by vast fields and dusty roads, there lived a little girl named Akua. She was only 5 years old, with big, curious eyes and a heart full of hope. Akua loved playing with the chickens, chasing butterflies, and listening to the old folks' stories under the shade of the giant baobab tree.
But life had been tough lately. The rains hadn't come in months, and crops were withering away. People were struggling to find food, and Akua's family was no exception. Her mother, Ama, was frail and worn out from working in the fields, trying to provide for Akua and her baby brother, Kofi.
One morning, Ama woke up early, kissed Akua goodbye, and left the hut. She promised to return with food, but hours passed, and she didn't come back. Akua waited and waited, her stomach growling with hunger. She searched the village, asking everyone if they'd seen her mother, but no one had any news.
As the sun began to set, Akua realized her mother had left her behind. Tears streamed down her face as she huddled under the baobab tree, clutching Kofi's tiny bundle of rags.
