The last couple of weeks have felt like years, and it took a somewhat rude awakening to get me out of what felt like a very prolonged creative rut. And that’s okay. Going through lows and finding perspective during said lows really sums up the human experience most of us share, I think. And coming out of that, I feel very optimistic about each new day that awaits hereafter.

I hope anyone else going through a challenging time finds their silver lining too.

Haven’t baked anything in ages as I’ve hardly craved sweet things of late. That said, I just couldn’t bring myself to throw out our overripe bananas. This banana bread is currently being enjoyed toasted with butter spread, a cup of coffee, and me in bed with a good read. @ At Home

This week I found myself gravitating towards the same pieces over and over for work and other errands. Since the coming week is set to be a slower one with more time at home, expect to see a lot more loungewear looks and oversized knits on repeat. Excited to share a round-up of quality comforpieces that are great for layering, indoors or otherwise.

When you know, you know. I don’t know who else needed to see this, but it came as such a great reminder for me when I saw it last week. Some sound advice I would have given myself, in retrospect: be patient and be gentle with the people around you if they don’t understand the personal growth you’re undergoing.

Sundays in our home usually consist of late brunches at the kitchen counter, with french press coffee of course... today, however, it’s just me and my to-do-list.
What are your Sunday traditions while in lockdown? Are they quite different to before?

IN COLLABORATION WITH |
Some 11 years ago, 16 year old me first discovered mascara and it’s wonderful ability to transform my eyes and really make them sparkle. Having a decade worth of experimenting with different brands, brush types, various techniques of application, etc, it’s been so gratifying to have come across CHANEL’s “Inimitable” mascara — giving me voluminous, long, wispy lashes. There are no clumps (achievable when applying a light application) and the formulation doesn’t irritate my eyes after hours of wearing it. After a few months of trialing I’ve found it to be the best mascara I’ve used to date.
Swipe for a better look at my lashes wearing one coat of .beauty’s INIMITABLE mascara in “noir black”. No false lashes, no lash curling / lifting etc. just an impeccably made product.

A few days ago I did a Q&A on my stories centered around personal style and how minimalism has inspired me to be more considered with what I purchase and briefly touched on the overall consumption of our household / lifestyle needs. I received so many questions and didn’t manage to get to all of them unfortunately but did manage to highlight the ones I was able to answer.
If you missed it, the highlights are on my profile under “Q&A”.

Neutral with a hint of print and a splash of color perfectly sums up this week’s capsule wardrobe. Keeping my transitional white blazer on rotation for those slightly breezy days we’ve been having in Cape Town - it’s the perfect layering piece over any look.
