July Race DONE-zzles ✅ : Pinelands 10km Race 💃🏽

Been off running for a while, but we had to stay committed to the course and secure our monthly race medal 💁🏽‍♀️. Just for vibes & fun.

For my recent trip to Lesotho, I was hosted at Thaba Bosiu Cultural Village 💛

It was so lovely to finally make my way here. A first for me and definitely not a last. So happy to have learnt about the history of the Basotho people and how this place forms as its foundation.

Such a beautiful site and one to not forget to add to your itinerary when you visit Lesotho 🇱🇸. The staff and the people are just 10/10 amazing and the food is also so great.



📌DID YOU KNOW?

Thaba Bosiu is a historic flat-topped sandstone plateau in Lesotho, serving as the birthplace of the Basotho nation. King Moshoeshoe established the nation here and he also live here with his wives and children.

Thaba Bosiu is also considered a profound place of healing, spiritual renewal, and ancestral power. It is widely regarded as a sacred epicenter for the Basotho people.

I definitely felt healed from just being here 🥺

The Cultural Village is also a popular destination for tourists. As it offers thatched huts in a classic Basotho style which are capable of keeping you warm & secured during the cold & warm seasons

Rooms: Features 40 cozy, warm rooms equipped with premium bedding, refrigerators, coffee makers, and in-room safes.

Amenities: Includes free buffet breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and free secure self-parking.

Staying here is so peaceful 😌. Defs enjoyed my first night here.

It felt like home waking up here in the morning 🥺

Fun fact about the accommodation:

The floors have underground heating that is kept on throughout. I arrived here with a painful left foot from running and general cold in Cape Town & decided to walk barefoot in the room with no socks because it was just so warm. I also needed that tactile input from the ground too as I hardly ever do this.

Can I tell you now that my foot has been healed since my stay here? Literally no complaints… I guess it’s true, this place has healing powers 🥺

I could literally stay here forever, thank you Thaba Bosiu 💛

The ton is completely buzzing, and this author’s DMs are practically overflowing with the latest updates!

It is not every day that this author gets to share the same oxygen as absolute royalty. Yet, our very own Lesotho-loving diamond, Mapitso Thaisi, decided that a simple trip across the border was the perfect excuse to cause a total fiasco in the Mountain Kingdom.

Yes, dolls! She packed her finest and glided all the way from South Africa to honour the stunning Young Basotho Designers Collection by Aranda. Surrounded by heritage and pure talent, Mapitso achieved what most can only dream of—a moment, and a beautiful photograph, with Her Majesty, the Queen ‘Masenate Mohato Seeiso of Lesotho.

They shared a beautiful, light-hearted conversation that warmed the entire room. As for the details? This author’s lips are sealed. If you wish to know what words passed between them, you will have to travel to Thaba Bosiu and listen closely to the mountain wind.
