One of the things I really enjoy about working with international buyers is being their eyes and ears when they can’t be in Cape Town themselves.

When I’m viewing a property on their behalf, I look beyond what’s immediately obvious - the light, layout, surroundings, potential future development, and all those details you won’t necessarily see in the listing photos.

Because a property can photograph beautifully and still not be the right property for a particular buyer.

And when I’m working with sellers, I look at it from the other side:

What will buyers notice when they walk through the door? What will make them connect with the property - and what might make them hesitate?

There’s a lot more to a property than what you see in the listing photos.

One of my favourite days! 🔑

Today the transfer of this beautiful apartment at Atlantic Views in Sea Point went through, and I had the pleasure of handing over the keys to its new owners, a lovely South African couple.

They bought it with the future in mind, as a place to eventually retire to. Even if they won’t move in just yet, it’s lovely to know they have their future home by the sea waiting for them. 🌊

And on the rental side, I also handed over the keys to my little Garden Centre apartment today. My new tenant has already moved in and is very happy in his new home.

Two very different handovers on the same day. A pretty good way to start the weekend. 🤍

We started the weekend with dinner at one of my favourite restaurants - the Black Sheep (so good to see that it’s buzzing in the middle of winter 🍷), followed by a stunning hike in Hout Bay and a proper South African braai with friends.

This morning called for a quick Atlantic dip, and I wrapped up the weekend with a long walk along the Sea Point Promenade.

As much as I’ve loved every minute of this beautiful winter weekend, Cape Town really does need the rain. Bit until it arrives, it’s hard not to appreciate days like these. ☀️
