Revitalise Neighbourhood is an initiative by DLJTV for Bonteheuwel.

Join the Revitalise Neighbourhood Initiative in building stronger communities.

We are excited to extend an open invitation to the public on behalf of the Revitalise Neighbourhood Initiative. Our mission is to confront the challenges faced by communities and cultivate vibrant, sustainable neighbourhoods that prioritise safety, inclusivity, and warmth for all residents. By promoting investment in arts & crafts, infrastructure, local businesses, and active community engagement, we are committed to enhancing quality of life while driving both social and economic progress.

ONE OF OUR 4 KEY PORTFOLIOS AIMED AT REVITALISING NEIGHBOURHOODS:
1. My Plek My Hoek Concert
Transforming gang-occupied corners into safe performance spaces and converting residential areas into active community hubs. This initiative promotes investment in the arts and local businesses while sparking creativity through our open jam sessions, My Plek My Hoek, hosted across the city.

🎤 Featured Artist: Klein Fortuin
Klein Fortuin is celebrated for his comedic Afrikaans rap and high-energy live performances. With years of independent music-making, he has become a force in Cape Town’s music scene. His work draws inspiration from daily life in Mitchell’s Plain, smartly weaving real neighbourhood experiences into his lyrics. A multifaceted artist, Klein Fortuin moves seamlessly between conscious hip hop, hardcore battle rap, comedic tracks, and infectious club bangers — delivered in both Afrikaans and English.

Remy-E is an emerging Afrikaans rapper and lyricist whose sharp wordplay and grounded storytelling reflect the rhythms and realities of everyday South African life. It feels like things are getting back to some kind of normal in 2022 😍

We have been so busy at the graduation ceremony at Sustainability Institute in Stellenbosch on the 21st October 2022, and we are so excited that in-person events are making their way back into people's lives!

The tone of the afternoon was set by Fatima D**e, also known as Fatts D**e, a South African playwright and theatre director from Langa. It featured a stellar line up of musicians such as

ANDY MKOSI
Fernando Damon & Sanele Blaai
Amarafleur

Check the 2nd Episode out and get to know Ashwin De Stadler with his BMW – E60 525i.

I always had a passion for cars it started in my early childhood days, everything about cars draws my attention and that is why I always look for new ideas and always try to be unique. First car I started out with was a Polo Playa.

Autopunks started in the year 2008 when my dad decided to start his own business…this is where I started enjoying working with cars and becoming hands on with what my dad Grant De Stadler has taught me…now I can also come up with my own ideas and built whatever I put my mind to. Autopunks is a family business and we do plan on growing.

In this episode of “DA RPM SHOW With Reiny Salie”, Reiny sit down with Hussein Khan to discuss his BMW - E30 325i.

Check the 1st Episode out and get to know Hussein Khan with his BMW - E30 325i.

As a child, I was fascinated by cars. As I grew into a teenager my friends and I would sit and talk for hours about cars. Naturally, coming from a challenging background, these were just dreams. However, as we got older, we bought old cars and worked on them together and actually built some pretty fast cars that we raced on the streets of Durban. I learnt a lot from mentors and applied this knowledge. So as I got older, my cars became faster. A time progressed I fell in love with Gymkhana / Autocross racing. It was the level of skill that hooked me. I met legends like Reece Williamson, Vinny Hopkins and the late Mark Lambert to name a few and I got involved in Sidewayz Car Club. Motorsport at the time was a privileged sport. But together our passion was to bring Motorsport to the people in disadvantaged communities. Communities that we came from. We held racing events in Durban that were free to the spectators. We encouraged new drivers to join us and we imparted our knowledge and skill to them. Our events attracted 1000s of people and the communities loved us. We ran monthly events for more than a decade. In this time we managed to get hold of a piece of property in Newlands and built a track out of this. Times were tough and sponsors were few. Many of the events were sponsored out of our own pockets. But we were happy to do this because this became the breeding ground for many racers that are currently competing in professional events today. Apart from running these events I also raced at every event as well. The cars that we raced progressed as we became more skilled. We went from sidedraughts to turbos and nitrous and the racing became really competitive. Today Sidewayz Car Club, is a legend that lives on in my heart and in the hearts of many others. We are planning a comeback so keep your eyes peeled. Fast forward to today, we’ll it’s about 30years since I built my first car and I am still building cars today. It’s a passion that I will have until my last breathe. A big shout out to my Sidewayz Car Club members and the Ovies Bras Group. Through God’s grace, the same friends that I had 30 years ago are still my buddies today. The only difference is that we are building better and faster cars. What’s next for me…Well further progress has been made on the turbo E30 and the next project is already in the pipeline. So keep watching this channel to see what the next build is.
