Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Georgia Rugby family at this time.

The Georgia national rugby coach is currently recovering from Covid-19 in a top South Africa hospital.

Levan Maisashvili was one of six members of the Georgian touring party to test positive for the virus after playing against South Africa on July 2.

“Everything is being done to improve Levan Maisashvili’s condition,” the Georgia Rugby Union said. “He has been moved to one of South Africa’s top-level clinics, which is equipped with the most up-to-date medical equipment to manage COVID patients.”

The other 5 squad members who contacted the virus have all flown back to Georgia to complete their isolation at home.

Castle Lions Series: Sharks vs Lions.

The Castle Lions match between the Natal Sharks has been postponed by an hour with kick off now set for 8pm.

Reason for this is Covid-19 has been found within the Lions squad as one member of the team management tested positive during routine testing.

All players and management involved in the Sharks fixture have been retested ahead of the game.

The extra hour is needed to give the medical team time to process the results

Covid-19 cases reported upon arrival in the Bulls BIO Bubble.

Tour medical experts are now accessing the situation. An announcement will be made in due course.

In the meantime the Bulls are isolating until further information is available.
