At Boulders Beach, conservationists are tackling an unusual threat to endangered African Penguins attacks from Cape honeybees. With fewer than 10,000 breeding pairs left in the wild, every penguin counts.

Bee behavior expert Jenny Cullinan of Ujubee NPC is working with SANParks rangers and the City of Cape Town’s Marine Unit to keep penguins safe while also protecting Cape honeybees, an endemic species vital to our ecosystems. 🌍💛
