Meet Nangamso Memani: SA Film Academy Trainee Spotlight!

Born and raised in Khayelitsha, Nangamso is a Cape Town-based filmmaker and Production Trainee with a passion for storytelling through visual art. A City Varsity graduate (Class of 2023), she specialized in camerawork and lighting, building a strong creative foundation rooted in her Xhosa heritage and artistic background as a dancer.

Since graduating, Nangamso has worked as an Assistant Coordinator and collaborated on theatre productions, continually refining her craft. Now focused on becoming a Director of Photography, she brings humility, hard work, and cultural pride to every frame she creates.
