Meeting Jane is undoubtedly one of the highlights of my career and may have helped send me down the path I am on now. I felt like she was really interested in everything young journalist me had to say. A respect she seemed to pay to anyone and when I asked what was on her bucket-list all those years ago, she gave a simple, yet powerful, response: ”Making the world a better place – that will do.” And there's certainly no doubt she achieved exactly that.

The world has lost a remarkable voice for both people and wildlife. She showed me that protecting animals begins with caring for one another, and that hope is built through action, no matter how small. Her wisdom, compassion, and tireless work will no doubt continue to inspire long after she has left this world.

Just outside Plettenberg Bay, Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary has added a guided farmyard that’s pure joy for little ones. Think muddy boots, giggles, and hands-on animal encounters — with a cappuccino in hand for you.
