From spice gardens to rum tasting, visiting giant tortoises and helicopter flights, there’s plenty to do in Seychelles, beyond lying on the sand. Here are some of our favourite things to do on the islands:

🌊Swim at Port Launay – snorkel, kayak and explore the crystal-clear waters of this marine national park
⛵ Explore Eden Island – wander the marina, browse the shops and watch the yachts come and go
🌿 Wander Le Jardin du Roi – discover spice gardens, tortoises, tropical plants and spectacular views (and don’t miss the papaya fritters!)
🍹Visit Takamaka Rum Distillery – see how Seychelles’ famous rum is made, explore the estate and, naturally, enjoy a tasting
🏖️ Spend the day at Beau Vallon – swim, build sandcastles, eat, shop and explore
🌴Walk through Vallée de Mai – venture into an ancient palm forest and search for the legendary coco de mer
🩴Discover Anse Georgette – powder-white sand, granite boulders and impossibly turquoise water. Basically, paradise
⛳Play golf at Constance Lemuria – tee off among tropical greenery and take on the spectacular 15th hole
🚲Cycle around La Digue – swap cars for bicycles, explore L’Union Estate and meet the island’s enormous Aldabra giant tortoises
🚁Take to the skies with Zil Air – see the Seychelles from above, with tiny islands scattered across that incredible blue ocean
🏝️Escape to Cerf Island – slow right down with snorkelling, kayaking, long lunches and absolutely nowhere you need to be

By the time we left Jembisa - An African Bush Home our eldest might as well have moved in. She knew which cupboard held the colouring books, where Milo, the massive black Labrador, liked to nap in the afternoons, and exactly which bunk bed was the most comfortable. I suppose that’s the biggest compliment we could give the place. It never felt like a hotel. It felt like home. A rather beautiful home in the middle of the Waterberg, but home all the same.

And a home we want to return to as soon as we can. Here are just some of the things that made our stay here stand out: https://www.5starstories.co/uncategorized/10-things-we-loved-about-jembisa-bush-home/

We recently visited the Seychelles with Constance Hotels & Resorts and here's the reasons why we loved staying at both Constance Ephelia on Mahé and Constance Lemuria on Praslin.

🏝️ The history: Constance began in Mauritius and has grown into a hotel group that genuinely understands the islands.
🏄 There activities: From kayaking and snorkelling to mountain biking, tennis, padel and even a forest zipline.
🍽️ The food: Multiple restaurants, live cooking stations, beautiful settings and plenty of variety, and Lemuria’s wine cellar has more than 23,000 bottles. 🍷
🛏️ The rooms: Think big bathrooms, soaking tubs, walk-in showers and generous terraces.
🏊 The pools: Lemuria’s spectacular three-tier pool is where we spent most of our holiday!
👧 The Coconut Tribe: The kids’ clubs offer arts and crafts, outdoor play areas and swimming pools. And also loved the bracelet exchange, where children can swap their bracelets for treats like ice cream, milkshakes and popcorn. 🍦
🌿 The ethos: At Lemuria, the resort sits alongside an important turtle nesting beach, with conservation teams monitoring hawksbill and green turtles.
🐢 The giant tortoises: At both resorts you can get up close to Aldabra giant tortoises, some of them more than 100 years old.

And then of course there’s the spa, beaches, and plenty of little touches that make a stay feel special.

Inside Saint-Anne Marine National Park, just a short boat ride from the Seychelles’ main island of Mahé, is a place that feels a world away from modern civilization. There are no busy roads; in fact, there are no roads at all, and there certainly aren’t any shopping centres or crowds. Instead, there is thick vegetation, rocky headlands, small beaches and just a handful of small accommodation options. This is where we recently discovered L’Habitation Cerf Island, perhaps the most surprising delight of our recent visit to the archipelago.

"Looking back, it's difficult to pinpoint the one thing that made Constance Lemuria special. It wasn't just the beaches, although they're exceptional. It wasn't the food, the golf course, or the beautiful suites. It wasn’t even the tortoises...."
