NEWS>>>>The passing of wealthy businessman Wicknell Chivayo has stopped a court case over his US$25 million fortune, and now his ex-wife Sonja Madzikanda must wait for a court official to appoint someone to manage his money and property before she can continue asking for her share, while his two young children are also protected by law and must be cared for.

The law says someone must first be chosen to stand in for Chivayo and take care of his money and property. This person is called a legal representative. A court official called the Master of the High Court must choose this person.

Until the legal representative is chosen, the case cannot move forward. So Madzikanda must wait before she can continue asking for her share.

Once the legal representative is chosen, Madzikanda can send her claims to that person. If the legal representative says no, she can still go to court to ask for her share.

Chivayo also left behind two young children. The law says they must be cared for. Money must be put aside for their food, health, and school before anything else is shared out.

If Chivayo left a will, his money will be shared the way he wrote in the will. If he did not leave a will, the law says his children will be the main people to get his money.

So the case has not ended. It has only stopped for now. The matter over Chivayo's fortune will continue once a legal representative is chosen. Empress Tariro
