.Maitland Got Talent Programme is a community initiative undertaken by
Maitland Got Talents NPC, A Non Profit Company based in Cape Town to exploit
the talented potentials in youths and assist them in the development of these
potentials. This initiative is aimed at impacting the lives of over 1,000
underprivileged young people in Cape Town. This will be achieved by providing
them with platforms in

which they can showcase their talents and other
potentials. Through this programme, we aim at identifying and developing the
talented potentials of young people using exhibition shows, platforms for
expression, performance training and mentoring with the intention that these
young people will proceed in life to make a career for themselves using the
talents they have discovered from the programme. In a South Africa, there are numerous challenges that are still predominant in
most of its communities. Most youths are ready to defy some of the challenges
prevailing in these communities such as unemployment and economic hardship,
which has reduced them to the level of desperation. Most of them have given up
hopes and have buried their talents and indulge in activities such as drug abuse,
prostitution, gansterism and banditry. It can therefore not be argued that
idleness breeds crime and other numerous malpractices that can only lead to the
destruction of individuals and their communities.

Our Story

The primary target population for the Maitland Got Talent exhibition and talent development programme is for everyone residing in Cape Town. However the programme is expected to attract participants from other regions and provinces in South Africa. It is expected that this programme will benefit people directly and indirectly as the discovered potentials in youths will provide them with the opportunity to pursue a career. Besides discovering their potentials and gaining valuable skills, knowledge, and expertise, participants will be able to earn an income and improve their standard of living and that of the greater community. Since the programme is a long term programme, which is still at its inception stage, it shall commence with the development of the hidden talents of 100 youths sought from Cape Town and other regions in South Africa. These youths will have access to new services provided by this programme, as well as other services that may arise as a result of the programme.
