"He knows what to do... in terms of nutrition and stuff. He's been giving me motivation every day, showing me that I'm a good athlete and I'm a champion." 🗣️🏆

There is nothing quite like having a legend in your corner. While I’m still negotiating my "half-fees" for not being quite as fast as Underson, the impact of coaching is undeniable.

It’s about more than just the splits and the mileage—it’s about the mindset. Having someone who truly understands their athletes can be the difference between a good run and a championship performance.

Huge respect to Brendan and the team for pushing the limits of South African running! 🇿🇦✨

I was having a little bit of a pain cave... a suffer-fest." 🗣️🥴

The trails always have a surprise waiting. For Jessie, the first 40km of Pass2Pass were flowy, runnable, and fast until she hit Krom River Dome.

The technical sections took it up a notch, turning a beautiful run into a battle of mental strength. Despite being overtaken on the technical descents, she held on for an incredible 3rd place finish. 🥇🥉

She says she wants to go back and actually hike it next time just to see the views she missed while suffering! Massive respect to Jessie for digging deep when the terrain got tough. 🏔️💪

You get on top of that mountain and you don't see any houses, or roads, or anything. You're just heavy, heavy in the mountains." — .buys

There is a specific kind of "insane" beauty found only when you outrun the reach of civilization.

Jacques described the final loop at as "unnecessary but beautiful"—a detour that takes you so deep into the remote valleys that the world below completely disappears.

For an elite runner who spends his life on the trails, finding a place that feels this unique and isolated is the ultimate highlight.
It’s not just a race; it’s a reminder of how small we are when we’re truly in the wild.

Would you trade the city lights for a 'heavy' mountain silence? 👇

The plan was to take it "chilled." The result?
A Ultra win and 3rd overall🥇🥉

We caught up with to hear how her "treat" of a race turned into a podium-sweeping performance.

From sunrise running on magnificent ridgelines to remote valley aid stations, Em reminds us that the fastest way to the finish line is often just being genuinely happy on the trails.
"I was just very happy during the whole thing."

Massive congratulations, Em! 🤘🚀
We are so proud of you!!!

POV: You’re at a 100km+ start line in SA and you bump into . 🇿🇦🏃‍♂️

They don’t call him "Miler" for fun.

After a "long" 2025 featuring eight 100-milers and two 200-milers, Marius is keeping it "casual" this year with a 300-miler at Tankwa and a 13 Peaks mission. And when the opportunity to do came around he couldn't pass it up!

For Marius, the trail isn't just a race; it's where he lives.

POV: You ask the Pass2Pass community how they’re feeling about tomorrow. 🤣

From the elites to the first-timers, the vibe at registration is unanimous. Safe to say we are EXTREMELY amped for a massive day out in the mountains!

See you at the start line. 🏃‍♂️💨

The elite mindset at Pass2Pass. 🏃‍♂️💨

Pure grit, mountain respect, and the readiness to "give it horns" on these hidden gem trails.

Good luck to everyone chasing the podium tomorrow. 🤘⛰️

The pre-race jitters are real. 🤣

Caught some of the best gems at the registration yesterday!

Whether you’re “undercooked” or just praying for a strong bladder, we’ll see you all at the start line! 🏃‍♂️💨

What's one word that honestly describes how you sre feeling right now?

You don’t always need noise.
Sometimes you just need to be seen.

I loved this quote from my series chat with the legend that is .l.robson on the quiet art of aid station magic.

Reading the moment.
Knowing when a runner needs a hug, a nod, or nothing at all.

It’s hard to explain to non-runners what really happens out there, but this is it.
Presence. Humanity. Community, when it matters most.

“Success in running is not just about results, it is about breaking mental limits that carry over into life.”

1Throwback to one of my most inspiring chats of the year with from .southafrica ahead of .

Lindi’s philosophy is powerful: when senior athletes push into that Top 10, they aren’t just racing. They are "running ahead" to show the next generation exactly what is possible.

When you realize you can go further than you thought, your entire world changes.

Imagine flying all the way from Sweden to run the 100-miler... and your luggage never arrives. 😱

One of my favourite stories of the year was this one that Leigh Goldschmidt told me from the 2024 event, and how the Cape Town trail community rallied together!

Within 45 minutes of hearing the news, the team (along with and ) had this runner fully kitted out from head to toe.

"He reckons it wouldn't have happened in any other country." A beautiful reminder of the spirit of UTCT and the Cape Town trail community. 🤝
