It’s all about mentorship with our students — not just teaching them the skills, but creating a culture where they ultimately pay it forward.

The goal is to build a community where students inspire, support, share knowledge and grow — both individually and collectively.

Today, DJ Sophia spent some time with Dre, helping him work through the fundamentals. He’s making great progress and is well on his way to mastering the basic mixing concepts.

Thank you to Tuerk Music Technologies / TURNKEY MUSIC & MULTIMEDIA for sending us the new Fender Studio Motion 32

Looking forward to reviewing it and exploring a different approach to the DAW experience with this unit. With its feature set, Fender Studio could potentially become an interesting alternative for DJs looking to move beyond DJing and into the DJ → Producer → Musician journey.

In the next couple of weeks we will unpack its feature set at Tiny Warehouse🎧🎛️🎸

We always take a step back with our students to unpack where certain concepts, techniques and approaches come from.

Understanding the journey from vinyl to today’s technology helps fill in the gaps and puts the evolution of DJing into perspective. Because much of what feels new isn’t really new — it’s often an evolution, adaptation or reimagining of ideas that came before.

Know where it came from, understand how it evolved, then make it your own.

Today we have the pleasure of hosting the TexpoAfrica team at the Tiny Warehouse, all the way from 🇿🇼 Zimbabwe.

This year, two winning teams — six students in total — travel to Cape Town from 16–22 August for a technology immersion tour. G-CAP - our non profit partner is excited to support this experience by connecting the young participants with the creative and cultural ecosystem that makes Cape Town such a unique city.

As part of the immersion, we introduce the students to the technology behind DJing and live performance, demonstrating how creative arts and technology intersect to open new possibilities for young people.

We believe exposure matters. Strategic partnerships between education, technology, creative industries and community organisations give young people a broader view of what is possible.

Building bridges. Creating exposure. Developing the next generation. 🇿🇦🇿🇼🎧

One of the things we love most is unpacking and sharing knowledge with our students in an environment where everyone learns—and re-learns—from one another. That includes us.

Every session is a reminder that growth isn’t one-way. Questions spark new perspectives, shared experiences deepen understanding, and together we continue to evolve as DJs and as a community. 🎧💙
