Introducing AS
"As" is the Afrikaans word for Ashes, as well as the word

22 year old Luciano had lost his mother 3 years prior to the moment we meet him on screen, and ever since then he has not been allowed to feel. Now he sits on Kalk Bay compilating scattering the last of his mother's disappearing AS/ASHES to let go of his grief. What does or should he do? Scatter and let go? Or hold on and live with it?
Luciano lives on the Cape Flats, Elsies River. The film explores our protagonist's lived experience of grief and how not only by circumstance but by choice, his life is turned upside down to what is known as a 'Botton Kop' (drug addict addicted to mandrax).
