🚨Breaking News: Decision on Paul Watson’s Extradition Expected Within 14 Days

One day ahead of Paul Watson’s seventh court hearing, Julie Stage, the lawyer representing Paul Watson, revealed that the Justice Department expects to decide within the next 14 days whether Watson will be extradited to Japan.

The court hearings tomorrow in Greenland pertain solely to Watson’s detention (custody) and are separate from the extradition process. “The decision regarding extradition will be made by the Ministry of Justice. They are two different tracks,” she explained. “The ministry emailed me yesterday and informed me that they expect to make a decision within two weeks. That is all we know.”

Julie Stage also disclosed that the Justice Ministry has requested additional information from Japan before reaching its final decision on extradition.

On Monday, Greenland’s court will hold a hearing to determine whether Paul Watson will remain detained in Nuuk’s prison.
