We are deeply saddened by the passing of our Cape Town TV board member Lonwabo Kilani.

Lonwabo studied Visual Arts at the Community Arts Project (CAP) as well as animation, digital arts and interactive media. He held a Bachelor of Arts in Motion Picture (BAMP) degree in Directing Animation and an Honours in Curatorship from the Centre for Curating the Archive. He became a Creative Knowledge Resources fellow for his Masters in Fine Art (MAFA) degree.

Ever the committed activist, Lonwabo was was a long-standing member of Gugulective, an artist collective tackling apartheid economic and spatial legacies. He participated in numerous group exhibitions and artistic collaborations. Lonwabo was the chair of the Greatmore Arts Trust, and he represented the Arts Sector on the Cape Town TV Board.

R.I.P. Lonwabo - you are sorely missed.
