Our goal is to help the industry and our members' shows grow.
To that end we're introducing a "verified great show" system that will help listeners quickly recognise shows that have been verified in the same way that you see stickers on wine bottles, or blue ticks back when that meant something on Twitter.
It'll also give podcasters a way to get detailed feedback on their shows that we hope will help them level up.
We're working on the design and economics of it right now.

We're not running the South African Podcast Awards this year. Why?
Well, in planning this years show, I came to the realisation that the turnover of podcasts is quite slow compared to, say, the music industry.
This means that we'll end up giving the same awards to most of the same shows again this year, and we think we can do better than that when it comes to highlighting great podcasts for the public's attention and trust. More on that in the next post.
So what's the future of the SAPA? We'll run it next year again, when the SAPG and the industry itself has had more time to welcome in fresh creators and fresh shows.
For those who may be disappointed by this development, I'm sorry. I think the 2024 show did an amazing job, but we've got some thing even better for out members coming up .
